The world fell silent in an instant.
Wendy Quay covered her mouth, her eyes wide open as she watched Yves King transform into a lecherous wolf. Stunned, her pretty face blushed a deep shade of red.
Maeve, too, was blinking her clear, watery eyes, staring at Yves King with disoriented confusion.
The most stunned one, however, was Yves King himself. He could not have dreamed that Faye Owen's foolish charade was not a ploy, the real Wendy really was there with Maeve, apparently using the restroom in the small, separate washroom.
His face was frozen, lips slightly agape, numbly staring at Wendy and Maeve.
Well, not surprising, Faye Owen had been calm and composed all the while.
But then, Yves King's actions, seemingly paused right when he was about to pounce on Faye Owen, gave the impression as if time had stopped. He was frozen in place.
