She was so embarrassed she was about to faint.
And yet this guy had the audacity to put on an I'm-the-evil-villain act. It was disheartening to think that she had been weeping for him and his tragic past. This was the height of ignorance. But his antics had miraculously dissolved much of the pain and bitterness she was feeling.
How could he have utter such words, comparing himself to a menacing wall?
