Everyone couldn't control their forward lunge as the car abruptly stopped. Faye Owen looked ahead and saw nothing out of the ordinary, causing her to feel somewhat alarmed and annoyed. She wanted to scold Yves King for his abrupt stop but swallowed her words when she noticed his facial expression.
His usually dark complexion was paler than usual and his cheek muscles were twitching. It seemed as if he was trying hard to control his emotions and forced himself to stay calm. It was as though he just witnessed something horrifying.
"Yves, Yves King," Faye Owen gently poked his arm, whispering, "What happened?"
