"Hmm?" Basil Jaak hadn't fallen asleep; his mental focus was entirely on the room next door at the moment.
"Are you, are you cold? If you are, then... come up and sleep on the bed," Yetta Astir murmured with a red face, after hesitating for a while in the dark.
For some reason, the thought of Basil Jaak sleeping on the floor for her made Yetta Astir feel very uncomfortable.
After all, they were both fully clothed, so it wouldn't be a big deal for Basil Jaak to share a bed with her, she thought to herself.
"Weren't you afraid that I might do something to you? You're not scared anymore?" Basil Jaak asked.
Yetta Astir replied, "If you wanted to do something to me, sleeping on the floor wouldn't stop you. If you feel cold, come up here; I'll sleep on this side, and you sleep on that side."
Basil Jaak chuckled, "Police Officer Astir, it looks like I won't have the chance to share a pillow with you tonight... hehe..."
