Jessica Flack emerged from the restroom and the instant she caught Basil Jaak's gaze, her ears involuntarily began to burn with heat. Though her physiological needs were uncontrollable, the thought of having a man who wasn't yet her husband buy her sanitary pads was unbearably embarrassing.
With a chuckle, Basil Jaak quickly changed the subject, "All good now? Then let's head back this way."
Basil Jaak led the way while Lydia White, arm in arm with Jessica Flack, followed behind. Perhaps due to the recent awkwardness, they tacitly maintained a distance from Basil Jaak.
As Basil Jaak and the others were heading back, they happened to run into a group that had just returned from causing trouble at the government office, and they saw a line of people approaching.
The woman who owned the little store went out to meet her husband as he returned, eager to find out what had happened.
"Ah, don't even mention it; it was a wasted trip." The man sighed.
