Basil Jaak slowly opened his eyes to find himself waking up on a hospital bed, surrounded by the smell of disinfectant.
"Big sister, Jaak is awake!" Zoe's cheerful voice reached Basil Jaak's ears, and he turned his head to look in the direction of the sound.
Basil Jaak saw Mamie Powell lying on a hospital bed only a short distance away from his own, he too was lying on a hospital bed with an IV in his arm.
Basil Jaak tried to sit up but immediately felt dizzy and couldn't help asking in confusion, "What happened to me?"
Mamie Powell just snorted coldly and turned her face away.
Zoe explained, "Jaak, you passed out right in the operating room after the blood draw, and then we brought you to the ward. Zoc specially arranged a large ward for the three of you to stay together."
As Zoe said this, Basil Jaak also recalled that he had fainted due to excessive blood loss.
"Where's the little girl?" Basil Jaak didn't see the child and couldn't help but ask.
