Basil Jaak led Connor on a mad dash through the woods for several hundred meters until they finally shook off the threat of the drug sellers.
Connor gasped for breath so heavily he felt like his lungs might burst out, while Basil Jaak stood there as if nothing had happened, quietly watching Connor catch his breath.
"Connor, you never expected to end up in my hands in the end, did you?" Basil Jaak asked with a smile.
After catching his breath for a while, Connor felt better and looked up at Basil Jaak, saying, "I accept being caught by you!"
Connor had planned to sneak attack Basil Jaak but, upon seeing how simply Basil Jaak had taken out that gang of ferocious drug sellers, he suddenly couldn't muster any will to resist. Even the thought of it sent cold sweat pouring down his forehead, and he swallowed hard, his throat feeling parched.
Just then, a few sporadic gunshots sounded from behind, startling Connor so much that his whole body shook, and he couldn't stop shivering.
