From Debby Sutton's bedroom came a shrill cry that echoed through the entire building.
"Damn it, I'm bleeding." Basil Jaak said in a disgruntled tone as he looked at the bite mark on his shoulder left by Debby Sutton.
Debby glanced at the wound and apologized, "Sorry, I was in a lot of pain, and I couldn't help myself."
Basil rolled his eyes irritably and responded, "Even if you were in pain, did you have to bite my shoulder?"
"I told you, I couldn't hold back!" Debby Sutton, not wanting to explain further, tried to move her injured ankle. It wasn't as red, swollen, or painful as before.
With a glint of surprise in her eyes, Debby asked Basil, "Can I walk now?"
"No, your ankle's just healed. Don't exert too much pressure on it," Basil shook his head.
"But, I want to take a bath," Debby looked at Basil and said.
Debby had just undressed for a bath when she fell, so now she desperately wanted a shower.
"Should I carry you to the bathroom then?" Basil tentatively asked.
