After returning from the rooftop, Baird had matters to resolve at the bureau and didn't stay long in the ward before heading back.
While teasing the already awake Blanche Jaak, Basil Jaak asked Mamie Powell, "Fairy Powell, you still have those things, right?"
Mamie Powell inquired, "What things?"
"The stuff from Happy Forest!" Basil Jaak enunciated each word.
Hearing this, a flicker of surprise crossed Mamie Powell's eyes as she looked up cautiously at Basil Jaak.
Basil Jaak smiled faintly, "Don't be nervous, I mainly want to use it to remove a thorn."
Mamie Powell nodded, "The stuff is on my hard drive. If you want it, just have Zoe fetch it for you. Anyway, those things are useless to me now."
"Hmm!" Basil Jaak nodded. Having that thing in hand made dealing with people much easier; he just hoped it contained something about Jaxson.
"Alright, hand Blanche over to me, I need to feed her," Mamie Powell called out as she sat up in bed, gesturing to Basil Jaak.
