Basil Jaak walked out of the room, gently closing the door behind him, about to head into the corridor for a smoke. Unexpectedly, the room next door abruptly opened, and out walked Kaiden and Liz, hand in hand.
There was a joyous smile on Liz's face, as she held onto Kaiden's hand tightly, appearing like she had won the favour of Venus herself.
"Honey, where shall we go for our supper?" Liz was just about to ask Kaiden when she turned her head and found herself staring directly into Basil Jaak's eyes. Startled, she shrieked, "Basil Jaak, why are you here?"
Basil Jaak rubbed his nose, smiling bitterly, "Why couldn't it be me?" Then in a jesting manner, he said, "By the look of you two, did you do something guilty and now afraid someone will find out? Are you planning to silence me?"
"Ah!" Liz let out a shriek as if her tail was stepped on, quickly hiding behind Kaiden. Despite Liz's usual carefree demeanour, when the moment of truth arrived, she was surprisingly shy.
