"Director Tiarks, be careful." The head of the Traffic Bureau carefully helped Alva into the car, his mind filled with uneasy thoughts about Alva's phone conversation earlier at the Vehicle Management Office.
Once Alva got in the car, he signaled the driver to start and dialed Basil Jaak's number on his phone.
"Alva, I was about to call you. You beat me to it. We really are on the same wavelength," Basil Jaak chuckled.
"Spare me your disgusting comments, I'm perfectly straight." Alva switched from his earlier serious demeanor and started joking with Basil Jaak over the phone.
"You're overthinking it. I'm very straight too, I would never compete with you for your wife," Basil Jaak rolled his eyes.
Alva gave a faint smile and said, "I've already given the Vehicle Management Office heads up. Your car should be sent over soon."
"That's a relief, but I have another favor to ask," Basil Jaak said.
