Thud thud thud...
The irregular knocking interrupted Basil Jaak's dream. Yawning, he stirred and got out of bed.
"What brings you here?" Stunned, Basil Jaak asked upon seeing Kayson at his doorstep.
Kayson rolled his eyes at Basil Jaak, then asked angrily, "Have you lost your mind, saying you're quitting?" His words left Basil Jaak completely confused.
"Explain yourself, what do you mean quitting?" Basil Jaak closed the door behind him and asked with a bitter smile.
Kayson plopped onto the sofa and huffed, "What else could it be, obviously your job! I don't get why you're not doing anything even after Mr. Flack agreed to let you come back."
Basil rubbed his nose and explained, "There...there must be a reason."
"What reason could there be? Obviously, your pride has the best of you. You can't swallow your pride, can you?" retorted Kayson, rolling his eyes and snorting disdainfully.
Basil chuckled, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
