Basil Jaak had only recently traded in for this phone number, and apart from Byron and Ann knowing it, no one else did. With Ann just having left, who on earth could be calling? Jaak, staring at the unknown number displayed on his phone, was puzzled. After the ringtone lingered for quite a while, he begrudgingly picked up the call.
"Basil Jaak, are you okay?" A familiar voice spilled out from the phone and Jaak recognized it as Amanda.
"How would anything happen to me, a big boy," Jaak, still riding the thrill of having just tricked Xenia Wendleton, jokingly told Amanda. "Speaking of which, how's that lass doing? I wanted to call you guys last night, but I didn't have any of your numbers."
"Kayson's head still hurts, she's still lying in bed as we speak." Remembering Kayson and how she woke up this morning, complaining of a headache while cursing Jaak, Amanda couldn't help but chuckle. She then proceeded, "I only found your number when I got to the company."
