The courtyard housed few girls, pitiable in number. There was Xia Shi, but since she looked down on him, he never bothered to put up a warm face to her cold backside.
Ye Ranran was different, though. She loved Jun Mochan, adored everything he cherished, and accepted all of him.
"Don't be sending glances my way, madam. I am Zeng Taisong," said the man next to Zhou Xian. He had a handsome and astute appearance—one could tell at a glance he was no simple character.
"Taisong is based overseas and is very familiar with the affairs of Country M. I had him investigate, and today he's back, so we can analyze the situation."
"I met with Xia Qing today, and she mentioned there's a way to change someone's testimony. Did someone say something?" Ye Ranran inquired.
All three pairs of eyes were focused on her, each more piercing than the last—Ye Ranran dared not meet their gaze.
"Did she mention anyone in particular?" Jun Mochan asked gently, a hint of a smile crossing his lips.
