Erdazi was the first to speak up, suggesting the name "Guomei Clothing Factory". His thought process was that the goal of clothing was to enhance beauty. Whether it was for an individual or the entire nation, it should be beautiful. Thus, the name Guomei, meaning beautiful country, sounded right.
Xiaohuazi didn't like this suggestion. He pondered over it and proposed instead, "Fushun Garments Factory. It implies plenty of luck and fortune…."
As these two went back and forth, Su Xiaowan and the others frowned at their suggestions. They felt it was too rustic. Although Guomei was bearable, Su Xiaowan knew that in the future, there was a company called Guomei Electric, so it would be inappropriate to snatch their name. Thus, brainstorming continued.
