Hua Lunxi ushered Ye Lu into the car, stepped on the accelerator, and disappeared in a cloud of dust.
"Hua Lunxi, are you really Hua Lunxi?" Ye Lu hadn't come to terms with this astonishing turn of events and turned to look at Hua Lunxi, her eyes vacant.
Were they eloping now? Oh Lord, eloping, what kind of melodramatic plot was this? Moreover, they were two completely unrelated individuals.
Hua Lunxi also seemed rather flustered, his breath shaky; it took him a moment to calm down. He turned to look at Ye Lu, his expression simultaneously apologetic and slightly awkward.
"Sorry, I scared you, didn't I? It was an emergency, so I kissed you."
Ye Lu shook her head, he hadn't really kissed her in all fairness. When he'd leaned in, he'd used a finger as a barrier. But from an outsider's perspective, it had seemed as if they had kissed.
His passionate declaration of love had further convinced everyone that their affair was a done deal.
