Qin Muchuan extinguished his cigarette in the ashtray, smirking coldly. "My wife and I are going through a divorce. In other words, we are not on good terms. Implicitly speaking, we don't keep in touch much. Ask yourself, how often do you meet up with someone you barely know?"
The police nodded in agreement. "True, we don't often meet up with strangers, but... you and your spouse wouldn't be considered strangers, right?"
Qin Muchuan shrugged his shoulders. "Once a marriage crumbles, the relationship between husband and wife feels worse than being strangers. At least, with strangers, there's a chance to develop potentially positive connections. But for a pair involved in a broken marriage, they can only become enemies; reconciliation as friends is virtually impossible."
He made the statement definitively, resolutely.
Then, he raised an eyebrow and smirked. "The truth is, maybe others can stay friendly, but I simply can't!"
