With a squeak, the car pulled over on the non-motorized lane, blocking Zhou Ziqing's path.
Zhou Ziqing stopped in her tracks at the sight of his limited-edition business car.
She silently wiped away her tears in the cool night air, appearing very sad and heartbroken.
Qin Muchuan stepped out of the car, shut the door, and approached her. "You cried!" he noted.
Zhou Ziqing started to cry even more profusely, covering her mouth and remaining silent.
Qin Muchuan raised his hand to wipe away her tears. "I'm sorry. I had to act that way because she was with us. You know our relationship has to be clandestine. We can't be open about it, so I'm sorry for inconveniencing you."
Zhou Ziqing began to sob audibly, looking at Qin Muchuan through teary eyes, "Is everything you said true? But just now, you seemed so indifferent to me, your eyes showed no emotion!"
"You should choose to believe me!" Slowly, Qin Muchuan moved his hand away from her face and stepped aside.
