The elderly woman sitting in front of the mirror grew happier and happier as layers of lotions and creams were applied to her face.
Seeing the faint joy on her face, Lin Xiangwan also relaxed a little.
The old lady looked at the white stuff being applied to her face and asked nervously, "What are you putting on me?"
"Foundation!"
"Oh dear, don't use that on me. It's white and makes me look like I'm plastered. I used it once about ten years ago—scared me half to death!" The old lady resisted and tried to push Lin Xiangwan's hand away.
"Grandma, what I'm applying on you is different from what you used decades ago. The one now doesn't make you look all pale but makes your complexion appear more realistic and your skin smoother!" explained Lin Xiangwan hurriedly.
"I don't believe it. I know I was ridiculed when I used it years ago!"
Lin Xiangwan understood how grandma, then already an old woman, might have drawn mockery by using a light foundation.
