"Kai Zi, propose!" Shao Shan suddenly exclaimed.
Ke Kai was taken aback at first, but upon hearing the chatter amongst the girls earlier, he hesitated a few seconds, then promptly knelt down on one knee, holding a plate loaded with eggplant and squid with both hands, and devoutly presented it to An Lan.
"An Lan, marry me!"
One has to admit, Ke Kai is undoubtedly the first to pop the question using roasted eggplant and squid.
An Lan was taken aback initially, then presumably due to the right moment or maybe the profound impact from the two families and their three children that evening, she hesitated slightly, and astonishingly, reached out to accept the plate.
Then, she nodded her head and agreed, "Alright, I accept your proposal!"
Ke Kai stared at An Lan in disbelief, she had really accepted his proposal?
