After Wan Qi left, Gu Chen went straight to Shen Xian's office.
Busy as ever, Shen Xian didn't even lift her eyelids, her eyes remaining focused on her computer screen.
Gu Chen walked over, topped off her empty teacup with water, and without saying a word, leaned against the side of her desk, waiting quietly for her to finish her work.
A few minutes later, Shen Xian rubbed her hands, stiff from typing, and finally turned to look at Gu Chen, who had been silently standing by.
Their gazes met, and neither spoke for a long while.
In the end, it was Gu Chen who broke the silence, "I've put you through a lot."
He looked at Shen Xian with some apology, pushing the teacup a little closer to her.
Shen Xian curved her lips into a small smile, took a sip of her tea, and then asked, "Did everything go smoothly? Is the contract signed?"
Gu Chen nodded, "It's signed."
A hidden smile began to take shape in the corners of his mouth, blossoming at Shen Xian's roll of her eyes.
