After arriving at Fuyun Court, Shen Xian dove straight into the kitchen.
Making food for one was a bit more delightful than making it for two, and she, already fond of cooking, found her mood in the kitchen today particularly joyous.
"Let me assist you," said Gu Chen.
While Shen Xian was busy, Gu Chen, dressed in casual home clothes, came in, rolling up his sleeves as he spoke.
"Actually, there's no need. I can handle it myself."
Shen Xian was washing vegetables, and when she saw Gu Chen come in, her motions didn't cease, the green leaves scattering under the flow of the tap.
Gu Chen walked over to the bag of groceries and after rummaging through said, "I can try peeling potatoes."
Shen Xian found this somewhat amusing. Seeing Gu Chen so eager to help in the kitchen, she couldn't really refuse him anymore.
"Alright then. After I wash these, you can wash them for a bit before peeling them," she offered, making way for him and picking up a cutting board to chop vegetables.
