Gu Chen watched Shen Xian's retreating figure. He didn't understand why she had suddenly become so distant from him, which made him afraid to get too close. He just stood at the bedroom door from afar, took out his cell phone and prepared to call the police.
Before he finished dialing the number, he heard the woman's cold, calm voice in front of him, "No need."
"What?"
Gu Chen was puzzled but stopped the action of dialing the phone anyway.
"I said, there's no need to call the police." Shen Xian placed the photo in her hand on the bed, turned around to face Gu Chen, and continued, "I know who did it."
Gu Chen's confusion deepened. He lowered the hand holding his phone and looked at Shen Xian, waiting for what she was about to say next.
"My computer is gone, and an unused cell phone too. Nothing else is missing."
Shen Xian's eyes were chilly as she stared straight at Gu Chen, as if trying to penetrate his heart, his thoughts.
