Just as she entered the Chen Family compound, she heard bursts of crying.
Chen Tong's family lived in a siheyuan, along with several other families. Suizi initially thought someone else was mourning.
Only when she walked closer did she realize the crying came from Chen Tong's home.

"His uncle... he's gone," Chen Tong's mother said before breaking into another round of tears, leaving Suizi in shock.
"Didn't we save him yesterday?"
"Don't even mention it..."
Chen Tong's mother wept as she recounted the events.
Chen Tong had brought medicine over yesterday, and it indeed saved his uncle's life.
Suizi personally escorted them to the hospital, and everything seemed fine at that point.
But the problem occurred after his uncle returned home.
