After dinner, just when Lin Shu was about to leave, a heavy rain began to pour outside.
Taking advantage of the situation, Mr. Fang decided to have them both stay overnight at the old house.
"In this thunderstorm, you should head back to your rooms immediately."
Out of no other options, Lin Shu found herself reluctantly following Fang Zhi upstairs.
Upon closing the door, the room fell silent with just the two of them, the air feeling as though it had solidified.
Feeling uncomfortable all over, Lin Shu suggested, "Ahem…the rain shouldn't last too much longer. We can leave once it stops."
She guessed that Fang Zhi probably wasn't too thrilled about sharing a room with her either.
Good, she wasn't exactly excited about it herself!
"The bangle is worth 880,000." Fang Zhi muttered.
Lin Shu, who was about to sit down, widened her eyes in disbelief, unable to fathom that the jade bangle she was wearing was worth such an exorbitant amount, beyond her wildest imaginations!
