Despite not having done it for a while, Fang Zhi handled the task adeptly.
Poor Lin Shu, however, begged and pleaded but still got tossed around by Fang Zhi.
Worse still, Fang Zhi managed to claim the moral high ground in this situation.
"This is what you told grandfather, and also what you told me in the hospital. You can't back out now," Fang Zhi said, "I'm just helping you fulfil your promise."
His words sounded ridiculously reasonable, and Lin Shu couldn't find a counterargument.
She realized that words she uttered in the hospital was like self-inflicted wound, she not only broke her bowl—the bowl she relied on for food—she also destroyed her second plan.
Lin Shu wished she could smack herself for her foolish statements. It was one thing to lie a little to Grandfather; it was entirely another to mess with Fang Zhi. That was like plucking a tiger's whiskers!
