Once they arrived back home, both were feeling fatigued. As soon as they stepped into the living room, they saw their mother sitting in the middle, watching TV.
The two of them walked in together. Cheng Yanqing grinned and said, "Mom, when did you get here?"
The mother gestured for them to sit down, then sighed. "I'm here today because there's something important we need to discuss."
Shen Lan had a hunch about what was coming.
Obviously, the reason their mother was waiting for them here was that Zhou Tao had already kicked up a fuss.
Both of them sat down on the sofa. Cheng Yanqing was the first to speak, "Mom, this has to do with Zhou Tao, right?"
"Exactly," the mother replied solemnly, "After all, they were harmed by something from our home. It wouldn't be right to not compensate them."
Cheng Yanqing frowned, clearly unwilling.
He had warned them not to pick them up before.
They insisted on picking them up.
