After the meal, it was already in the afternoon. Cheng Yanqing and Shen Lan rode over to the small town together on their horse.
Even though the place was impoverished, the town was thriving, perhaps due to the local market day happening that day.
The streets were bustling with people going to and fro.
The town had an old-world charm and boasted a plethora of local delicacies. As both of them walked and ate, Shen Lan had her fill, her belly was already bursting.
Feeling unable to go any further, Shen Lan decided to rest for a while. Patting her full stomach, she said towards Cheng Yanqing, "I'm stuffed, and I'm tired. Let's rest here a bit."
She stopped, and plopped herself onto a stone bench. Seeing that Cheng Yanqing wasn't too keen on snacking, she approached him out of curiosity, "Don't men fancy snacks?"
Shen Lan pondered about the men around her. Indeed, none of them seemed to enjoy snacks as much as the women did, men seemed to be rather indifferent towards them.
