The next morning, Shen Lan woke up and it was already midday; she was so exhausted from the day before that she didn't even hear her alarm clock.
She hadn't anticipated this.
She still had work to do; she hadn't finished painting her piece, so once she got up in the afternoon, she went straight to painting without even washing her face or having breakfast.
Her hair was a mess and she was barefoot while painting.
After quite a while, Shen Lan finally received a call from Cheng Yanqing; she picked up her phone while holding her paintbrush in her mouth.
As soon as she picked up the phone, she started to complain.
"I'm so angry with you, Cheng Yanqing. You knew I had a painting to do today, why didn't you wake me up?"
"Are you trying to kill me on purpose?"
Cheng Yanqing felt wronged on the other end of the line and remarked, "I'm not happy with what you're saying. Look at your call log, I've called you more than ten times."
