"It's not a problem," replied Old Master Wen, his face beaming with a smile. He led Cheng Yanqing into the house, "As we age, we don't feel the heat as much."
"Upon hearing from Rou that you'd be coming, I made sure the servants prepared all kinds of delicacies just for you."
A variety of dishes were indeed prepared in the drawing room upon their arrival. Old Master Wen had ensured his guests would enjoy the best of delicacies from the land and sea.
The extravagant feast, however, was nothing new to Cheng Yanqing, who was accustomed to such luxuries.
Wen Rou ushered him inside and took a seat close to him, eagerly serving him the food.
Cheng Yanqing felt somewhat uncomfortable and after a few bites, he was full and prepared to lay down his chopsticks. As Wen Rou tried to pour him some wine, she chided, "How can you eat your meal without drinking any wine?"
"Without wine to accompany the meat, the happiness is halved."
