Back home, Su Qiqi checked her phone, still feeling uneasy, and decided to call Xu Zhi.
She thought no one would answer, but to her surprise, the call connected, "Hello, Sister ZhiZhi, are you okay?"
"Qiqi, I'm fine, thank you. It's really late now, you should go to sleep."
Su Qiqi wanted to say more, but before the words could leave her mouth, the call was already disconnected.
It was near dawn and Su Qiqi was tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.
She got up for some water. There was a new Beach rose in her room, always blue before, but today it stood alone in red.
Perhaps it had been there all along, and she had just overlooked it.
Su Qiqi moved in closer to examine the rose. Under the moonlight, it appeared to shimmer.
She took out her phone and snapped a photo.
She posted it privately on her circle of friends.
[You are my only one.]
As she scrolled down, she noticed several similar posts since receiving that first rose.
