"Any recent issues at work?" Jin Muchen inquired.
With her head down, engrossed in assembling toys with Jin Lin, Su Qiqi replied, "No, things have been going well lately."
Intuition told Jin Muchen that she was lying, but he wouldn't press her if she didn't wish to disclose anything.
"You can tell me if there's anything bothering you."
Upon hearing that, Su Qiqi nodded to indicate her understanding.
Since childhood, she had always dealt with problems on her own. Now faced with this situation, she felt somewhat at a loss.
At dinner, Su Qiqi ate just as much as she did the day before, much to Jin Lin's astonishment. "Mom, didn't you eat lunch today?" he asked.
Although she seemed to have a hearty appetite, Jin Muchen felt that today's Su Qiqi was nothing like the woman she was yesterday.
She seemed deflated.
"I had lunch, but Aunt Liu's cooking is just too delicious." Su Qiqi served Jin Lin a bowl of soup, "Try some of this."
