As soon as Su Qiqi stepped out the door, she spotted Jin Muchen's car and quietly sighed as she walked over.
Jin Muchen watched Su Qiqi get in the car, waiting for her to settle in before driving off.
The car was eerily silent. Su Qiqi seemed no different from usual, yet Jin Muchen sensed an unspoken shadow looming over her.
"How's your design going?" Jin Muchen broke the silence.
Su Qiqi had prepared to be asked this question, her expression unchanging. "Almost done, needs a little refining."
"What about the fashion show?"
"Not decided yet."
Su Qiqi pretended everything was normal.
Then the car fell silent again.
Neither spoke during the journey to the kindergarten.
They didn't wait long at the gate before Jin Lin came running out.
Su Qiqi held Jin Lin's hand as they entered the car. As usual, Jin Lin chatted happily with Su Qiqi during the trip.
Returning home, the three of them had dinner, and then Su Qiqi put Jin Lin to bed, just like any other normal day.
