Chapter 8 - Embassy

The bronze U.S embassy symbol was being illuminated by the torches of an angry mob, gathered just outside the embassy, chanting something in Arabic, raising assault rifles high, and the torches higher. Most of them held up signs with the picture of the Wolf on them, as the Butcher steps up onto a car roof.

"[Give us the Wolf, or we will take him!]" The Butcher screamed in Arabic, holding up a revolver. On the third floor stood N and Alex, watching through the barred windows.

"2-6, Echo is on the third deck for RV, be advised- primary entry point clear, but that window's rapidly closing."

"Roger, wheels down in 3 mikes. 2-6 out." Kyle radioed, as N walked back to the interrogation table.

"We got 3 minutes." N said, his tail waving back and forth, the stinger glinting in the light.

"In 3 minutes, my people will breach the embassy, and kill you all."

"Listen here, you piece of shit. I took you in alive, I can always change my mind." N snarled, his hand changing into a sword.

"You have the wrong man, AI."

"LIES! Tell them what you've done." Farah yelled.

"We did not steal the gas." The Wolf said, adamant.

"Then who did?" N said, his voice dangerously low.

"Someone very, very dangerous." The Wolf said.

"Then where is it?" Alex said, walking around the interrogation room.

"I wish I knew." The Wolf said.

Hadir dashes into the interrogation room, bursting through the door and slamming it shut, worry written all over his face.

"The Butcher is outside, they'll burn the city to ash if they have to!"

"Save yourself, daughter. Join us." The Wolf said, looking over to Farah's direction, prompting Hadir to draw his pistol and aim it directly at the old man's temple.

"Do not talk to her!" Hadir snarled.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't." N said, turning his sword back into a regular hand and extending it, as Farah leans in closer to the Wolf.

"I am not your child, old man. I lead soldiers, you train killers."

"But we are all killers here, no?" The Wolf says, turning over to N, the latter scowling at the old man.

Muffled gunfire, and the sound of alarms was the next thing they heard. V and Uzi come rushing in, both panting like deers.

"They're gonna breach." Uzi said.

"We gotta move, now!" V yelled.

"3-1 to 2-6, shots fired. Moving to secure the HVI, will advise." Alex radioed, as the 5 moved the Wolf.

"Copy 3-1, Bravo's on station. Reposition and prep for evac." Kyle radioed.

"30 seconds." The pilot said.

"Roger, 30 seconds." Price said, swinging open the helicopter door, as the wind rushes in.

"Large group of unknowns moving on the front gate." The pilot said, as they move to the embassy, one of the belligerents in the crowd throw a molotov cocktail over the gate, and it opens, and the crowd charges through, into the embassy.

"They've breached the perimeter." The pilot said, trying to remain calm.

"Put us on the roof." Price said, clipping the rope onto the holster in the helicopter.

"We gotta reach Echo and the others, fast. They've got a whole lot of Hell headed their way even with the drones." Price said, covering his face after the crowd fires on the helicopter.

"Taking small arms fire!" The pilot yelled. Then a familiar whistling was heard.

"RPG!" Price yelled, as the rocket hit the helicopter right on the tail, causing it to spin downward uncontrollably.

"LIFTER 1 IS HIT- WE'RE HIT!" The pilot yelled, as both Price and Kyle held on to the railing for dear life.

"Ropes, go!" Price yelled, reaching for the ropes.

Nearly there....

Nearly there....

The helicopter spun even more, making everyone there completely nauseous. Kyle grabbed the rope, followed shortly by Price, as the rope spun around with the plane, and before the two knew it, they were face first on the pebble ground of the U.S embassy roof, the helicopter crashing and burning just about a couple feet away. Scrambling up to his feet, Price helped Kyle up.

"You broken?" Came Price's iconic question.

"I'm good." Kyle answers, as the two pick up their rifles.

"Echo 3-1, primary extraction failed, we're down on the roof." Price said to his radio.

"Understood, what's the call, Captain?"

"There's a saferoom in the basement, head there, we'll be right behind you." Price said.

"Roger." Alex radioed.

Kyle moves to the roof door with Price, swinging it open and heading down the stairs.

"We have to reach the saferoom 'fore Al-Qatala does." Price murmured.

"And the embassy personnel?" Kyle questions.

"Al-Qatala's here for the Wolf, so are we." Price said, opening the door to the offices, as the floor manager jogs up to Price.

"Good, you're here. They need 5 minutes to finish up. What can I do to help?"

"Find weapons, barricade the doors." Price replied to the manager.

"But you're the extraction team! You can't leave us alone!" The man replied desperately.

"Not yours." Came Price's cold reply, as he and Kyle run through the office.

"You! Get the door open." Price ordered to a random worker, who did exactly as told, fearing the intimidating man right next to him.

"Lock it behind us. V shouldn't be far." Price said, opening the door, and heading down the stairs, the massive window showing a car exploding, bursting into flames.

"0-6, Echo 3-1. Wolf is secure in the basement. Be advised, Butcher is outside. Yellow shirt." Alex radioed, as they approached ground level, the two men's eyes met the Butcher's. Face-to-face.

"I have eyes on 'im. They're breaking through now, we need a new extraction, fast." Price said, as they breached the ground level, attempting to shoot through the bulletproof windows, executing civilians, humans, drones, they didn't care. Blood and oil mixed together in the mass murder.

"Shit..." Kyle muttered.

"Take point, Sergeant." Price said, as they opened the door, only to be greeted by the Butcher holding 2 drones, a father and his child, hostage. Held at gunpoint, the revolver's cold steel glinting in the flames.

"Everyone, back!" Price yelled, as the civilians scampered out the door, to safety.

"We only want the Wolf. No one else has to die today!" The Butcher said, clicking off the safety.

"How about you, Captain? You gonna let them die?!" The Butcher growled, shooting the drone right in the head, killing the man instantly. Oil sprayed all over the glass, and the Butcher's arm, as the man collapsed; dead. The fucking animal took the kid next, holding the gun to his neck.

"Save his life Lieutenant." He said, venom dripping from his voice as V ran up from the basement to meet them, the two locking eyes.

"GIVE US THE WOLF!" The Butcher said sternly, as the kid pushes away the Butcher's leg, running off into the smoke, only to be shot in the back.

"Mercy is weak." The Butcher said.

V's eyes hollowed. Then her fear turned into anger. And anger turned into searing hot rage.

"I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" V snapped, changing her hand to a chainsaw, revving it.

"V, NO!" Price yelled, holding the drone back, the latter trying to pry off Price in a blind rage.

"Yes, let your attack dog come to me." The Butcher taunts.

"You little shit!" V cursed, her tail lashing around.

"Look, we're gonna kill 'im, and you're gonna do the honors." Kyle said. "But for now, we leave."

That managed to calm V down a bit, as she changed the chainsaw back into a regular hand, as Price opened the side door, running off with Kyle, as V follows.

" 'Ey, we'll get 'im. Count on it." Price said.

"3-1, the enemy vehicle is inbound, what's the status of the extraction?" Price radioed.

"Building's locked down. No way out, Captain." Came Alex's reply through the radio, as they entered another office area.

One of the cars rammed into the embassy, as multiple Al-Qatala soldiers climbed out of the car, rifles at the ready, as the trio dive to cover from the hail of bullets.

"Shit!" V cursed, firing on the terrorists blindly, missing half of the shots.

"Y'know what, screw it!" V yells, peeking out of cover and firing, hitting a couple of the madmen as Kyle and Price move in to finish the job.

"Clear!" V yells, as the 3 run into the hallway, shooting down the oncoming Al-Qatala as they advance. Blood and sweat was the dominant stench that covered the whole building.

"Let's get to the basement, take point." Price says, as V changes her gun for claws, as she grabs the door she knows is most likely locked, and rips it off of it's hinges, skewering the Al-Qatala lying in wait on the other end of the door, throwing the man away like a piece of garbage,

"3-1, we're in the basement."

"Rog'. Be advised, we have hostiles outside the saferoom."

"We'll take care of it." V radioed, as they advance to the saferoom.

V walks up to the intercom near the steel door, pushing the button.

"3-1, we're here." V says, and the door opens, and the 3 enter. N, Uzi, and Hadir are holding the Wolf at gunpoint, while Farah is on the lookout. Alex is positioned right next to the microphone.

"Farah, still fighting the good fight." Price said.

"Always, Captain." Farah replied, nodding.

"Ambassador's still outside, sir. He's trapped." N said.

"M'kay, keep 'em on the line, he may be our ticket outta here. Hadir, Uzi, N, thanks for the assist." Price said, actually saying their names instead of referring to them as 'drone'. Guess he wasn't all bad. Uzi nodded, pistol still trained on the Wolf.

"Omar Sulaman." Price growled.

"Have we met?" The Wolf questioned.

"Yeah, back when you were on our side." Price said.

"This motherfucker was a freedom fighter?" Uzi questioned.

"I still am, daughter." Came Sulaman's reply.

"I am not your kid, old man." Uzi said, hitting Sulaman with the butt of her pistol.

"The Butcher's men are closing in on the ambassador, Captain." Farah said."

"Rog'. V, use the cameras. Direct the Ambassador to safety. We'll need his keycard to open the rear doors. Rest a' you, on me."

Nodding, V pulled the mic towards her, and pressed the button.

"Mr. Ambassador, can you hear me?" V questions.

"I'm gonna lock the door. Stacy, hide!" the man yelled.

"No, don't!" V yelled, but it was too late. The man crawled up to the door and was shot on sight by one of the Al-Qatala.

"Shit!" V cursed.

"Captain, the Ambassador went and got himself killed. I can lead his assistant to you." V radioed.

"Do it, we need the keycard." Came Price's reply, and the radio cut.

"Hello, hello, can you hear me?" V questioned, as Stacy put on the earpiece.

"H-hello?!" Stacy said, voice quivering as she curled into a ball by the desk.

"This is Lieutenant V."

"Stacy... Stacy Davidson." Stacy said.

"Do exactly as I say, and I'll get you safe. Take the Ambassador's keycard and move to the door." V ordered.

Stacy scrambled over to the Ambassador's body, patting the body for the keycard, taking it, and moving to the wall near the door.

"O-ok, I have the keycard. W-what now?" Her voice quivered a bit more with every word she uttered, as V switched cameras, watching as one of the Al-Qatala execute one of the poor bastards that didn't get out in time.

"That man is outside, he could see me." Stacy whispered.

"Go right, there's a cabinet at the end of the hall." V said, switching cameras, as Stacy ran to the cabinet, crouching down, sniffling.

"There's a cart by the door, stay low." V says, as Stacy rushes over to the cart, as V switches cameras once again, only to be graced by the Butcher and 2 Al-Qatala officers, the latter pinning a civilian to the wall Stacy was right behind.

"Where is he? WHERE IS THE WOLF?!" The Butcher screamed, throwing the man down.

"Pillar, that's the fuckin' Butcher." V said, worry etched into her voice as Stacy scampered over to the pillar, staying low like V had told her.

The man tried to run away, but he was grabbed by the collar, and smashed onto the desk.

"Don't lie to me, the Wolf is here! Tell me where." The Butcher snarled, punching the man in the gut.

"I'm just an analyst! Someone else knows." The man said painfully, collapsing to the ground.

"Please, help me." Stacy whimpered.

"There's a cart near the bookshelves. Go, now, then hide near the body." V said, as Stacy scampered past the Butcher, trying to make as minimal noise as possible, while staying as low as possible, hiding near the body slumped over at the front of the cubicle, as an Al-Qatala soldier enters the room, Stacy luckily being out of sight. The man started to turn around, looking around the cubicle.

"Other side of the desk, go!" V said, her voice raising an octave.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Stacy cursed, running over to the paper shredder.

"They're killing him." Stacy said quietly.

"Go to the hallway, now, then move to the door." V said. Switching cameras to keep up with Stacy.

Switching over to the camera in the office, the office was no worse than the others. Bodies everywhere, the dead and dying all over.

"The cubicle, go." V said, as Stacy hurriedly ran over, trying to make as little noise as possible, spotting the groaning man near the file cabinet, rushing over to him.

"Oh my god- Adam?!" Stacy half-yelled.

"No, no, no! Stacy, pick up the phone!" V yelled, desperate to get her attention to ensure she didn't become swiss cheese the moment one of those bastards walk by.

Dragging the man by the arm, Stacy tried to drag him away.

"We have to get you out of here." Stacy said.

"Goddammit, Stacy! Leave 'em! They're coming!" V said, noticing two Al-Qatala walking into the destroyed office.

"I-I'm sorry Adam." Stacy said, scampering over to the cubicle just in time, as one of the Al-Qatala move right past her.

"Don't scream, Stacy." V warns.

"Don't. Move." V said, her voice lower than it should be.

"I wanna go home." Stacy whimpered.

"And you will, Stacy. You're almost out. Move to the other cubicle a couple feet from where you are now." V said, as Stacy scrambled over to the cubicle, as V switches cameras, to the east camera, watching Stacy as she moved.

"Move up to the desk." V said, as Stacy scrambled over to the desk, hiding under the table, waiting for the Al-Qatala to pass by.

"Lieutenant?" Stacy asked, after a couple minutes of silence.

"Hide by the large printer. There's a guard blocking the exit. Gonna have to distract him." V said.

"Ok, what do I need to do?" Stacy asked.

"Get to the shredder." V said.

"Ok." Stacy complied, dashing over to the shredder, and turning it on, catching the maniac guarding the door's attention.

"Go, Go! Get to the exit, run!" V yelled, as Stacy made a mad dash to the exit, opening the door, as Price and N mow down the terrorists.

"Get back!" N said.

"Holy shit! Holy shit!" Stacy cursed, running past the two, and out the door.

"Lieutenant, we got 'er. Regroup at the parking lot!" Price radioed.

"Roger that, boss." V said.

"All stations this net, the embassy has fallen. Marines are setting up a rally point at the Ambassador Residence." A U.S soldier radios, as V dashes through the hall, getting to the parking lot.

"This is Captain Price, SAS. We're working our way to you." Price said.

"Are you hurt?" N asked, as they walk in.

"V, we're leaving!" Price said.

"Roger that." V said.

"Hadir, watch on Sulaman." Price said, as the 10 make their way across the parking lot.

"What's the plan?"

"Link up wit' the Marines at the Southern compound." Price said.

"Where's the compound?" Kyle asks, as they rush outside.

"Not far, near the alley 'cross the street." Stacy says.

"Alright, let's get there then." Alex says, cocking his M4A1, as they all prepare for the worst, but a wry smirk crosses the Wolf's face.
