"Elenore!" I shouted, but her eyes only seemed to glow brighter, and brighter.

"My Lord, what is—?" Tom halted, staring at the radiant light. "What is this?" Jennie asked, bewildered.
"Elenore! Calm down!" I pleaded. She slowly closed her eyes and drifted away.
"What just happened?" Tom asked, his voice tense.
"Call the doctor now!" I yelled, panic rising in my chest.
"What did you say to her?" Jennie pressed.
"Nothing, just nothing," I replied, though I couldn't shake the feeling that her shining eyes were a sign of something far more troubling.
