I was a bit hesitant to invite Ocean over to my place because I didn't want anything going wrong. After today though, I feel like turning the car around and taking her back.
"Where is my gift ma'am?" I ask shifting in my seat to face her. "You are too special to give something material." She replies with a pout. "Oow, so what 'non-materialistic' something did you get me?" I ask, gesturing quotes in the air, my brows raised. "My heart." She replies, smiling goofily, making a heart with her hands.
She has caught me off guard, I'm too stunned to speak, so I drive off and park outside the road. She opens her mouth to say something, maybe protest. I pull her in and smash my lips to hers, letting all the pent up passion flow through the kiss. I hope she can read my mind screaming love to her, my lips being the channel.
It's screaming, I love you, I need you in every way, I want to protect you, I want to see you smile, I want to help you heal your wounds from the past and forget you ever had them.
When I finally release her, she is out of breath. She keeps her eyes locked to mine in disbelief. I stare back smiling cockily, also breathing heavily. "I never realized that kissing is good exercise."
She just stares at me before turning away smiling, her face turning crimson. "Don't you think we should do it often?" I continue to tease, turning on the ignition to drive back on the road. "Yuhh, we should. We should totally do it and scratch off going for jogs." I reply myself imitating her voice. She throws her head back laughing, victory.
We drive for a while in silence. She keeps tapping her fingers on her thighs, seemingly having something to say but not having the guts to bring it up. "I'm sorry I gave you a material gift when you are also special and deserve something priceless." I say, trying to clear the way for her to say whatever is on her mind.
"Are you kidding me, I loved it." She replies, almost screaming. I just laugh at her defensiveness. She looks at me, a face showing a debate. She finally opens her mouth to speak. "Can we go to the beach?" She asks, her eyes glimmering, hopeful.
If she weren't my girlfriend for whom I was trying to appear a gent, I would have screamed. I just smile and say, "Sure. Why not," instead. Pathetic. I've been trying to look for an excuse to spend more time with her and she has done it for me.
We drive to her apartment. I watch her change. I am surprised this time she did not run to her cubicle to hide from me. It is a whole new feeling to just watch as if she did it on purpose, to put up a show. I never thought I'd be able to sit still and just watch. It takes all of my self restraint to keep from covering the three stride distance to her.
"Which one should I wear?" She asks, her smile provocative. She is holding out a pink sundress and a black one in the other hand. I point to the one in her left hand. She rolls her eyes, working the zipper. "You are one loyal fan for black." She says, smiling and slides into ankle high combat boots.
"Shall we?" She picks up her clutch back, and holds out another hand for me. I smile up at her and take her hand, "We shall." I reply. She swats my shoulder with her free hand, "Eeew why did you have to sound like a Brit." She says, I think I love her more when she is acting all cocky.
We spend our Boxing day running around like a pair of kindergarten kids. We have our lunch at a food truck. Corn dogs, burgers and french fries. Doughnuts and cotton candy for dessert. Everytime we eat something crazy, it is all her idea. My baby girl.
When the sun finally set, we're all drained and so we watch it lying down, lost in our love for each other. The people slowly start to leave the beach until we are finally left alone. Ocean surprises me when she wingles out of my arms and stands up. She starts to shed her clothes slowly and I think I I'm blushing.
I raise my hands to my face and pat my cheeks in an attempt to get rid of the red. "What are you doing just sitting there?" Join me." She screams, throwing her hands around. Her hair rides on the wind, glowing in the moonlight. I just stand up, like the loyal puppy I am.
She comes up to me and starts unbuttoning my shirt. Surprised, I ask, "What– are you doing?" I am surprised I even stammer. "Helping you out of your clothes." She replies, smiling. "You do not want them getting wet, do you. Or do you have a change." She rambles on.
"We are going in there?" I ask, panick clear in my voice. "Yes, we are going skinny dipping." She replies, beaming brightly. "You will catch a cold." I protest, pulling her towards me. It's not cold enough to cause a cold, but the last thing I want is embarrassment. I'm wondering what we will do if someone comes and takes our clothes while we are in there.
She tip toes and kisses me. It's nothing much but I don't know what spell it came with because I find myself willingly walking towards the water.
We swim a long while and finally make love in the moonlight. I had no idea that she is hungry for me as much as I am for her. During the whole time, I felt feelings unexplainable.
I have a strong feeling that our relationship is progressing in the right direction.
I drive her home and drive back to ours. On the way I receive a call from Courtney and she updates me on the case. It is progressing pretty well. It's late so I sneak through the back, take a shower and sleep with a smile on. I sleep a satisfied man.
I feel my mattress deep on the side and I turn to check who it could be. I slowly peel my eyes open, heavy with sleep. I almost jump out of bed finding a figure lying beside me. I rub the remaining sleep out of my eyes, assuming that I am dreaming.
"Ocean!!" I exclaim, her name escaping from my lips. "I dropped you off at home just now. What are you doing here and how did you get here so fast?" I ask, unable to comprehend is happening.
She sits up, looking disheveled, lost and confused. She stares blankly at me then opens her mouth to say something.
