Jay and Mandy break through a wooden door. It leads them to a big room. A dark green light hands in the ceiling. Jay takes ahold of her hand, both their palms sweaty. They scower the room for a way out. Jay pushes on every wall he can see. He pulls every loose fitted thing he can see.
Mandy spots a table in the corner of the room. She approaches it slowly. She pulls open its singular drawer, exposing a gun.
"Did you find anything?" Jay asks.
"A gun," replies Mandy.
Jay approaches the table. He takes the gun in hand.
"Finally," he continues, "a bit of good fortune."
He tries to hand it back to Mandy. She shakes her hands, indicating she doesn't want it.
"Better off you have it," she says.
Jay stuffs the gun into the back of his jeans, keeping it safe. Jay takes a hugh sigh of relief, knowing he can now level the playing field. He takes another look in the drawer, trying to find anything he can.
"Empty," says Jay.
He looks at Mandy, a tear dropping from her eye. Her smile is slowly coming through her face. Jay approaches her,
"Are you ok?" He asks.
"We're going to make it," she says, wiping her tears away.
Jay hugs Mandy. He kisses her again, passionately. They both wrap their arms around one another. Mandy points to an exit sign,
"Jay, look," she continues, "a way out."
Jay smiles and kisses her on the cheek. They turn to close the drawer and head for the exit. As they turn to once again face the exit, they see the plague doctor standing between them and their freedom.
Jay takes Mandy's hand as he runs for the open wall. The assailant points the remote at the wall, closing it shut. Jay steps in front of Mandy as he takes the gun from the back of his jeans. He points it at their attacker,
"Move," he continues, "move or I swear I'll shoot."
Jay presses the hammer of the gun back, taking aim.
"Jay," says Mandy as she tugs at his arm. She continues, "Jay."
"Hang on, Mandy. We're getting out of here." He says.
"JAY," she yells.
Jay pulls the trigger, but nothing happens. He looks at the gun and takes aim, pulling the trigger once more. Jay opens the cylinder of the gun, exposing that there are no bullets in it.
He turns towards Mandy. He looks down at her left hand. She opens her palm to reveal three bullets.
"I forgot to mention," Mandy stabs Jay in the gut. She continues, "it's empty."
The gun falls from his hands. Jay's hands shake as he tries to breathe. Mandy stabs him three more times in the gut. Jay falls to the ground, struggling to breathe. He watches as Mandy stands over him. The plague doctor approaches slowly, twiddling the knife in their hands.
Jay attempts to crawl to the exit. His wounds deep as he leaves a trail of blood behind him. Mandy looks at the plague doctor, nodding in approval. The attacker pulls Jay back as he reaches for the door handle. They climb on top of him and stab him three more times.
The plague doctor stands over Jay's body, breathing deeply.
"You left the gun loaded," Mandy continues, "such a stupid thing to do."
The killer raises their arms wide and tilts their head. Mandy brushes her hair behind her ears, taking a deep breath.
"Now, go and kill the other two," she continues, "so then we can go and kill Cole in the hospital."
The plague doctor shakes their head.
