Cassie is gone and Daisy told me on the sly about Jack's episode in his office, their bond is so strong, I have to believe that we will get her back, my guilt over allowing her to be taken is overwhelming and I think it is affecting my healing ability.
The attack happened about an hour ago and Jack is already deep into plans for her rescue, the panic barely concealed in his eyes and voice.
"I'm so sorry Alpha, I have failed you both, I will understand if you wish to demote me, I would deserve it,"
"Don't be ridiculous, I would never even consider that, besides, Cassie would kill me if I did that" his answer is delivered with a reassuring glance before he turns back to the maps laid out across mine and Dave's laps.
