Chapter 92 - Chapter 92 - Beyonder is Searching for Love

UNIVERSE 12041

When Ms. Marvel found out about the Beyonder. She quickly decided to share this news to Sharky. She connects Sharky through the device, which Sharky has given, this device will form the connection with Sharky even if he was in a different Universe.

"What happened Kamala?" Sharky asked, he was still busy searching over the Beyonder.

"Sharky, today a guy named Beyonder comes to the Avengers headquarters, he even went to space to find the Avengers, he was so much stronger, but Avengers were confused, how was he alive, they even said you have already killed him," Kamala poured out all the information she had.

"What, Beyonder has gone to your Universe 12041?" Sharky again asked, he didn't believe the person he was searching, goes to the Universe 12041.

"Yes, Sharky, why are you so shocked?" Kamala asked, looking curiously over him.

"Yes, because I am searching for him, and you helped me,I'm coming to you," Sharky replied, he started his Interstellar Harley and turned towards the Universe 12041.

Meanwhile, the Beyonder floats above Earth looking down and rethinking his previous attempt to take ownership of the Earth. But if he does it by force, then Sharky will find it, and he doesn't want to take any risk. So he decides that he wants to own the Earth through legal means.

At the Manhattan in Nelson and Murdock Law Office. "Matt, I tell you, our back is flat against the wall. We don't even have the next month's rent in the bank," Nelson said, as he continued, "All my fault, of course. Ever since I admitted I lied to those reporters about one of our cases, nobody wants to trust us."

"Foggy, old friend, you'd blame yourself for the battle of bull run if you could find a way to do it. As much yours. I haven't been in the office much... Haven't carried my share of the load," Matt consoled him, he continued to calm him down, "We've been in tight spots before. We'll find a…."

But then suddenly a light appeared there, and Foggy's pulse is beating like a jack off hammer and Matt senses a presence.

"Greetings! I am from beyond!" Beyonder appeared there, he introduced himself.

"Uhh MATT- Believe me When I tell you a man just appeared in this room out of thin air. Thin air!" Nelson shouted in shock.

"I wish to hire you!" Beyonder replied. He revealed his plan and asks the pair to represent him in his legal battle to take ownership of the Earth. Foggy agrees because the Law Firm is failing but Matt doesn't want any part of it.

Matt leaves to find Glorianna's camera and tracks it down to a street thug named Skeeter. But before he gets the camera back he is approached by the Beyonder.

He asks for Matt's legal help again, and this time Matt agrees to think about it. Then when Matt has Skeeter cornered the Beyonder gives Matt his sight back as a favor of good will. This causes Matt to lose his focus and Skeeter gets away.

Matt now with sight goes to find Glorianna and enjoys his new found sight. The pair spend the day enjoying the sights around New York City. Then that evening at the Empire State Building Matt realizes that his gift of sight has a string attached.

He leaves Glorianna and goes to find the Beyonder . He demands that Beyonder take back his sight and he doesn't want to work for him. Beyonder takes the gift back and Daredevil goes to find Skeeter. Without his sight Matt is able to beat up Skeeter and gets Glorianna's camera back.

While these all have been witnessed by Sharky, when he first comes to he decided to erase the Beyonder again, but he stopped himself, when he found Beyonder is now not using his powers but doing it by legal way, and decided to gives one more chance to Beyonder, till he will again repeat the mistake.

Around this time Beyonder also started exploring all the dimensions outside of the normal universe, such as Asgard, Mephisto's realm, the Microverse, the Dark Dimension, and eventually the Crossroads, a nexus of realities. He found Bruce Banner there in near-suicidal despair. Once again he was puzzled by the complexity of human emotion.

He found the Hulk was sitting near a tree, and thinking about himself.

Hulk was busy in his realizations, although it takes him some time to come to grips with the fact that he has been reborn after so desperately desiring death. release from the nightmare of his existence as alter-ego of the incredible Hulk is what he desired, but then, time is all there is at the crossroads!

The triad's parting gift of remem- brance is an unappreciated present.

"So I'm alive again! Maybe that's wrong! Maybe I never died! I thought I had! I wanted to be dead so that I could be free of the hulk and he free of me!" Bruce was talking to himself, "But it figures! my life has been a curse from the very beginning! Why should I expect it to change now ?"

"Why should I ever have hoped to be any- thing other than what my father made me? Never a man like other men, in control of their destiny, able to DREAM! Never anything but... a MONSTER!"

Beyonder is looking over Bruce and the myriad of his life, "This man is puzzling, he is miserable, and yet makes no effort to seek gratification! he for-sakes his intellect and even the strength of the raging beast locked inside him to embrace despair- -LIKE A LOVER!"

Beyonder then noticed, an unimaginable distance away, suddenly, a stream of energy enters the void. "I shall help Bruce Banner!" He thought and at the bidding of the one from beyond, the energy-stream chan-ges course, heading right at Banner... Satisfied Beyonder departed from there.

Beyonder decided to limit himself in order to enjoy life since reality and his mind were indistinguishable; by doing this he showed some emotional progress. As he matured, he discovered love. This happened through a somewhat disastrous path.

First he had an affair with a beautiful woman named Sharon Ing, but he doesn't really care about her beyond the immediate moment, while she is completely enthralled with him. He leaves and flies off in a sports car, prompting the Air Force to pursue him.

While flying, he reminisces about his recent experiments regarding will, including the reanimation of Algrim the Elf into the form of Kurse, who wishes to kill Thor. Which is killed by Sharky, before it does any damage.

"Got him," One of the Air force hit him.

"Yeoww, that was rude!" Beyonder said, when he found his car was hit by the missile of an Air Force pilot. "Mister, that was uncalled for! Why did you hit my car, it is a mess now!" He said to the Air Force jets pilot.

The pilot was shocked to see Beyonder standing in the air. Then Beyonder walks out across the sky and trades his now-ruined flying car for one of the pilots' jets. "This is all right! And just to make sure nobody bothers me this time, I'll make this crate invisible to Radar!" Beyonder thought and he went to meet Reed Richards to ask about love.

He asks Reed to explain love. Reed struggles to explain, but uses his own relationship with Sue as an example; he says that it is best when it's mutual. It's a limitless gift-but it can also be dangerous, even to guys like them.

The Beyonder therefore decides the one thing missing from his life is the love of a good woman. He decided to return to Sharon Ing. He teleports back to his hotel suite, only to find...

"Sharon!" He shouted, immediately he senses that she is not breath-ing nor is her heart beating-and that self-inflicted barbi-turate overdose is the cause.

"HMM…" Beyonder finds a letter which has written, 'My Love, I have never loved anyone the way I love you here is nothing. I am nothing. I. cannot go on without you on living'. "She's dead by human medical standards–BUT NOT BEYOND THE REACH OF MY POWER!" Beyonder thought and then he used his powers to revive her.

"Oh! My head… What-? I'm alive! I'm all right! But... Beyonder! You came back to me!" She was surprised as she went to hug the Beyonder.

But Beyonder decides to break up, he feels that their relationship won't last because it's too lopsided. In front of her, he scans the world for other possible lovers, including both men and women, shocking her.

"How are you doing that? Making pictures in the air-! Hey-! Some of them are men!" Sharon said.

"Why not? I am innately of neither gender! I could just as easily take female form! So!" Beyonder replied as he shows her by changing into a female.

He tells her that he could just as easily appear as a woman, but he's used to being a man now. Finally he sets his eyes on the beautiful singer Alison Blaire, also known as the mutant heroine Dazzler. Sharon Ing is hurt, but eventually finds her own inner strength and walks out.

The Beyonder teleports Dazzler from her normal life onto a domed asteroid, and tries to woo her in an utterly hapless fashion, taking her on a tour of the universe without her consent. He tries to mimic normal romantic conventions, but he's clumsy and unintentionally obnoxious, and she isn't interested.

Eventually, however, he wins her over a bit, and she is at least willing to be friends. They decide to let him try to court her in a slightly more traditional fashion.

First he goes off to meet Alpha Flight, whom he fights briefly before taking a ring from Shaman's pouch. He gives it to Dazzler as a gift, but she wants to go back to her old life and dreams after all. He tries to help by making her a star, but she wants to earn her stardom.

"Please put me back where we were a minute ago!" Sharon said to him.

"Okay! I'm sorry! Now I feel lousy… Should I call a taxi?" Beyonder asked her. Which she denied.

Then, out of nowhere, the Avengers attack Beyonder. He fights them in a standard super-hero fashion, and they get the upper hand. They are about to kill him, and so Dazzler saves him.

They go to a mountaintop, and she gets him to admit that they weren't the real Avengers, he was faking the whole fight. He decides the whole problem is that the two of them are too different, and so he divides his powers with Dazzler, making her a Goddess, and probably the second-most-powerful being in creation.

But then Alison started flying away from him, Beyonder tried to stop her, then she shouted, "But I don't love you! I can't love you! When we touched I knew! It isn't reAL! And no pleasure, no power, can make it so! I won't trade my love, my soul for this! I don't want your power! OUT! OUT!" And yet once again Dazzler doesn't want this gift, or Beyonder's love. She rejects the power while flying, and falls to her death.

In his rage, the Beyonder releases a blast of power that obliterates a galaxy. Finally he brings her back to life and uses his power to make her love him. He soon realizes that, just as with Toots and Vinnie, a controlled friend or lover is no good. Love must be earned, and must be mutual, as Reed Richards told him. So he removed his control from her.

However, he did not completely abandon her. Giving her a tour of a mall from the air, he said he would join her crusade of public awareness for mutants, but she said she would rather do it on her own, so he brought her back to the place from where he had taken her originally, and they parted on good terms.

Dazzler walked to a local bar, and three mutant bikers started a fight. They normally had low levels of power, but those powers became amped as they got near her. The Beyonder appeared again, this time garbed as a superhero, and helped her fight the bikers, whose powers kept increasing.

The Beyonder intentionally limited his power to that of a "normal" superhero, and enjoyed the complexity and pressure of battle. Dazzler eventually realized that he had stimulated the situation by amping the bikers' powers, and made him stop the fight. He left after fixing the damage from the fight.

But just as he goes a little bit far, he finds himself in front of Sharky. "You, you, why do you always follow me? You have no other work?" Beyonder asked, looking shocked at Sharky. Although he is experiencing life, whenever he meets Sharky, he is helpless.

"Yes, Wherever you are, I will follow you. And whenever you make a mistake. You will always face me, and by destroying the galaxy you have again done wrong, it's happened , I have the power to bring back the Galaxy. So it's time to give you the punishment," Sharky said calmly.

"So, you're going to kill me again, but I will revive again, so what's the benefit of this?" Beyonder asked, looking towards him.

"Then, let's see, how much time you will be revived," Sharky said, waving his hand using the Alien X powers. He destroyed the Beyonder again, ending his journey on Universe 12041.

But he looked very closely. Even to the minimum level where all the Cosmic particles are going, then he found a portal, which is invisible to normal eyes, it was the way of a different Universe.

"So, he ran away to a different Universe," Sharky understands and then he opened the portal to the way of the Universe where Beyonder had run away.

Meanwhile, the Beyonder again revived in Universe 765, and he found himself near the Sanctum Sanctorum. And his curiosity leads him to meet Stephen Strange.

UNIVERSE 765

Because Sharky Tennyson was also able to do some magic, and the same goes with the Stephen Strange, so he wants to know, if magic is able to stop the Sharky.

He needs enlightenment of magic, and he sought out Dr. Strange. He walked into his Sanctum Sanctorum while Strange was out, he ripped off the cover of the Orb of Agamotto, and found him in the Dark Dimension with Clea. The experience apparently proved too enlightening in itself, and he ran away.

Strange found out what happened, and found him in a bar-one of the very ones he himself used to drink at after he had his accident and could no longer do surgery.

The Beyonder begged him for enlightenment. Strange wanted to know more about him, and peered inside him with the Eye of Agamotto, where he saw his true self.

Even though Strange had seen so many mysteries and beings of power, and had 'stood unafraid before Eternity himself,' he recoiled at the sight of the Beyonder's true nature and power. He realized that Beyonder 'could erase the universe with a thought.' But there was one more stronger being from which Beyonder was running away.

Now the Beyonder was limiting himself, and because he had intentionally gotten himself drunk, Strange realized that he had a chance to ensnare him with illusion, and perhaps take his danger away from the multiverse forever.

Unsure of the morality of such an act, he decided to put the Beyonder through the same experiences he had when he was a drunk, showing him the seediness of alcoholism, the enlightenment of the Ancient One, and the treachery of Baron Mordo, when Mordo originally tried to kill the Ancient One.

In this illusion, the Beyonder tried to stop Mordo, just as Dr. Strange had once done himself, thus proving that the Beyonder, like Strange, had some goodness still inside him.

"That's it? More pain is the answer to happiness? How can that be?" Beyonder asked, looking at Strange.

"Not pain, my friend from beyond -dedication! The willingness to take on pain for the sake of others, and the world! It transcends pain-transcends desire, when I ran to save the ancient one, I had learned the first lesson!" Dr Strange explained to him.

"But now-let the illusion be dispelled. Had you not made the effort yourself to help me against mordo, you would have lived out eternity in that veil of illusion," Strange explained, and because of this, he decided to let him out of the illusion.

"You'd have done that to me?" Beyonder asked, he was amazed, with the magic Dr. Strange easily sends him the illusion.

"But I still don't understand! Is that it? To be happy, I have to sacrifice? If that's true then why isn't everybody happy? If en-lightenment is simple, why is it so hard to find?" Beyonder asked Dr. Strange.

"Because you must know what to sacrifice, my friend! the world exacts a price from us in proportion to our abilities!" Strange explained, he continued, "I had great gifts–and I was called upon to give them all up! I had to give up my dreams of wealth, and power, and the gratitude of the masses it was my lot to protect! and most of all– I even had to give up my regret over my choice."

"You have power beyond measure, My friend, I expect that the sacrifice the world asks of you will be like-wise beyond measure!"

"If that's enlightenment, it sure isn't what they told me it would be-it doesn't make me feel at all happier!" Beyonder showed a puzzled expression.

"That's because happiness can be transcended as well- but that is a lesson no man can teach," Strange cleared his confusion.

"Sacrifice-dedication-transcend- I'm not sure I know what those words mean, Dr. Strange, what should I do? How should I act?" Beyonder asked for Dr. Strange guidance.

"You know what happiness is, my friend-and you know pain. See others and try to foster the one and prevent the other. Simply that," Strange continued giving the philosophy of life.

"I don't know -living, being human it seems bitter and bleak. I'm not sure I like enlighten- ment. I'm not sure it's worth it," Beyonder was still confused.

"Then you should see why it is difficult- and rare and precious," Strange tells him, and he asks for a promise, "But promise me at least that you will try. with the power you possess, without responsi- bility-dedication -you could cause much damage. you ruined that bar, and could have injured those men."

The Beyonder took his message seriously, and indeed it was an experience that he recalled several times throughout the rest of his time on Earth.

Later, as Beyonder walked through some slums, he met some heroin dealers. Since he was still somewhat naive, and often intentionally limited his awareness of the world in order to experience things more like a true human would, they were able to draw him into their tenement, telling him that they could provide him with true happiness through their drug.

In fact, they intended to give him an overdose and rob him. Cloak and Dagger followed, and took down the dealers, but not before they had given him the heroin.

It is only when the last of those who promised him happiness have been chilled to the core by darkness, or shocked by the purest light, that he deigns to ask Cloak Dagger...

"Why?" Beyonder asked them.

"Why what?" Dagger asked in confusion.

"Why have you hurt those whose only desire was to grant me happiness? I sought completeness- contentment they offered to give it to me. You interfered, denied me that which I desire, yet to tell me," He asked both of them.

"Those who offer others happiness are good! Those who deny others happiness are evil! According to your own morality then, you must be punished" Angry at Cloak and Dagger for stopping the drug dealers, he used his powers to cancel out their powers, turning them both human again.

But instead of being angry, both of them were actually thankful for this. Beyonder then let the heroin affect him, and was stunned at how horrible the experience was.

Beyonder then stopped the effects, and decided to punish the dealers instead, erasing them-and all other drug dealers-from existence.

While Cloak and Dagger had in the past acted as judge, jury, and executioners for many drug dealers, they realized now that this was going too far, and that perhaps some of them might have reformed, if they had been given more mercy.

After listening to Cloak and Dagger's arguments, the Beyonder agreed, and brought the drug dealers all back to life, then left.

"He is gone!" Cloak said looking all of the drug dealers revived back.

"And all the problems of the world remain!" Dagger said.

"For we who possess powers that make us something other than human to solve as humanely as possible," Cloak explained.

"Did we choose wrongly Cloak? I mean the problem of drugs-perhaps every problem afflicting mankind could have been solved with a snap of that... beyonder's fingers! Maybe we should have let him take care of us…" Dagger said.

"As if we were children," Cloak said, as they again decided to solve the problem in their own way, since Beyonder had returned their powers.

Beyonder finally turned his life around and decided to take a more positive, proactive approach. He built an enormous tower filled with his favorite gadgets in Sparta, Illinois. One of the local residents, Dave, a down-on-his luck local reporter, saw it and ran to see what was going on.

"Hello!" Beyonder greeted him.

"Uh... Hi! Are-are you the one I saw f-flying?" Dave asked him.

"Yep! That's me! What can I do for you?" Beyonder asked him.

"If you don't mind, I- like to ask you a few questions… L-like who are you? How do you fly? How did this building get here so quickly?" Dave asked.

"People call me the Beyonder! I'm a champion of life! I'm from-wait a minute…" Beyond that, he stopped and took out a gadget, he gave the information of gadgets, "I've got a little gadget here that'll show you my story! I love gadgets! I call this a mento-projector!"

"Ah! See? There I am in my own universel That white blankness is me. I didn't have any physical form then, but I was back there- didn't even know that anything else existed until…" Beyonder starts giving the details about him.

"There! See that black burst? Some cosmic event poked open a pinhole into mine! Through the pinhole I saw the Earth! I watched, fascinated!"

"Here I am, sometime laber, on Park Avenue! I took human form and came here to study this many-layered universe– especially this thing called desire, which is ubiquitous here but but was news to mel"

"That's me, after experiencing desire, trying to fulfill it, and falling! I was miserable!"

"Then I heard of a guy who might be able to help me-a sage... a mystic... a. sorcerer. No one seemed to know much about him! The few who knew of him at all spoke his name, no kidding, in whispers! That's him-Doctor Strange!

"So I started looking for him-rather drunkenly- and amazingly enough, I found him! He is far more, far greater than any in your multiverse suspect, as it turns out!"

"At first, for a moment, he had me at a disadvantage! I was drunk, disoriented... uncaring! He might have been able to zap me off into a pocket dimension some- place, keep me constantly inebriated, and thus rid your multiverse of me forever! But instead he had acted as a role model, showing how I could be a champion of life like Strange," Beyonder explained his plan.
