Chapter 74 - Destruction Of Asgard

The reunited family gathers for a leisurely breakfast. The aroma of freshly prepared food fills the air.

Around the dining table, laughter and conversation flow freely as they share tales and relish the simple joy of being together.

However, amidst the joyous reunion, a sudden shift in Odin's demeanor disrupts the harmonious scene. His gaze becomes clouded with concern.

"What happened, father-in-law?" Ben and Sif asked together, looking at the worried face of Odin.

In a moment of tension, Odin utters, "Something is amiss in Asgard. I feel a disturbance, a ripple through the realms."

"What do you feel is going to happen in Asgard?" Ben inquired.

Odin closed his eyes for a moment, a deep furrow appearing on his brow. When he opened them, a troubled expression clouded his features. "Surtur is destroying Asgard. He is bringing Ragnarok," Odin declared, the gravity of the situation.

Frigga, too, felt the weight of the revelation and asked with a sense of urgency, "How did this happen?"

"This is because of your birthed idiot son. He is just born to be a destroyer of Asgard," Odin's anger echoed through his words. Frigga, initially uncertain, sought clarification. "Who are you talking about, my King?" she asked, her concern shifting between Loki and Thor.

Then realization dawned on her – Thor was her biological son, while Loki was adopted. Thor must have done something again.

"Who other than Thor, he has killed Surtur in Muspelheim and brought back his crown to the Asgard treasure room. Since Hela has been released from the prison, both Loki and Thor were not able to control her. They brought Surtur's crown to the Eternal Flame, which made Surtur reborn," Odin explained, the weight of his words sinking in with a grim sound.

"Then what happened father-in-law? Is Surtur dangerous to Asgard?" Ben asks Odin, he wants to understand all the situations of Asgard.

"Yes, from the start, we have a prophecy, whenever Surtur comes to Asgard, he will bring the Ragnarok," Odin revealed, he continued, "Surtur's needs Eternal Flame to destroy Asgard. So I have snatched the Eternal Flame from Surtur. Before the prophecy becomes true. But my idiot son, himself brought the Surtur to Asgard, what can I do about the idiocy of my son."

Sif and Frigga face has already become panic, they knows about the prophecy, which describes how Surtur's will destroyed Asgard.

"What can we do, Father?" Sif asked Odin, her concern mirroring in her eyes. "I need to go back to Asgard, but I require the Bifrost or the Tesseract," Odin replied with urgency. However, the broken state of the Bifrost left him in a state of uncertainty, unsure of how to proceed.

"Don't worry, Father-in-law. Since Asgard was my son's kingdom, no one can destroy it," Ben reassured.

Activating the Space Clock, he turned towards his son, asking, "Sigurd, are you ready to achieve one more feat to save Asgard?"

"Yes, Daddy, I want to save my kingdom," Sigurd affirmed with determined nods. "Then, let's go," Ben declared, opening a portal to Asgard.

"Daddy, I'm coming too! I want to see the big demon," Maria exclaimed eagerly. "Yes, Ben, we want to come as well," Sif voiced her desire to accompany them.

"No, only Maria and Sigurd will go with me. I'll go quickly and come back quickly," Ben stated decisively. With Sigurd in his embrace and holding Maria's hand, he stepped inside the portal, transporting them directly to Asgard. The urgency in their movements reflected the gravity of the situation as they prepared to face the looming threat and work towards saving their beloved kingdom.

...

Meanwhile, on Asgard, after Loki placed Surtur's crown on the Eternal Flame, a colossal Surtur emerged, shattering the royal palace of Asgard. He laughed maniacally, "Tremble before me, Asgard!" Surtur's booming voice echoed as he brandished his Twilight Sword, the weapon growing in proportion. "I am your Reckoning!"

Thor and Brunnhilde had already evacuated the Asgardian people onto a giant spaceship stolen from the Grandmaster, an elder being. From the vantage point of the spacecraft, the inhabitants of Asgard witnessed Surtur's devastating onslaught as he relentlessly struck the realm with his fiery sword, bringing destruction to their once-majestic home. A palpable sadness filled the hearts of the Asgardians as they beheld the ruination of their cherished realm.

Thor and Brunnhilde stood on the broken Bifrost Bridge, surveying the chaos. Thor's voice carried a heavy sadness as he uttered, "We have brought destruction." The weight of responsibility and loss lingered in the air, casting a somber mood over the once vibrant realm of Asgard.

"Our people are safe. That's all that matters," Brunnhilde affirmed, her gaze fixed on the relentless destruction wrought by Surtur upon Asgard.

"We're fulfilling the prophecy ourselves," Thor stated, a deep sadness permeating his words. The sight of Asgard's demise weighed heavily on him.

"I hate the prophecy," Brunnhilde expressed her disdain for the foretelling that seemed to guide their actions.

"So do I, but we have no choice," Thor admitted with remorse. He continued, "Surtur will destroy Asgard. And with Asgard's destruction, Hela will also be vanquished, ensuring that our people may live."

"But we need to let Surtur finish the job," Thor explained. Suddenly, Hulk charged towards Surtur with a deafening roar, declaring, "I am coming to break you!" He delivered a powerful blow to Surtur's face, causing the giant to bend slightly.

"Hulk, stop, you moron!" Thor shouted in an attempt to control the uncontrollable force.

However, as Hulk relentlessly struck Surtur's head, the fiery giant retaliated. With a simple flick of his giant-sized finger, Surtur effortlessly picked up Hulk and threw him back.

"Hulk, stop! Just for once in your life, don't smash!" Thor pleaded, desperately trying to rein in the Hulk's destructive rampage. The struggle to control the uncontrollable added another layer of tension to the chaotic scene on Asgard.

"He's just a big monster!" Hulk expressed his disappointment to Thor, showing his frustration at the seemingly futile attempt to stop Surtur.

"Let's go from here!" Brunnhilde suggested, prompting a grumbling agreement from Hulk. With a determined run, Hulk picked up both Thor and Brunnhilde from the Bifrost Bridge, then leaped onto the spaceship where the remaining Asgardian citizens had already sought refuge.

Meanwhile, Surtur's destructive onslaught persisted. Hela engaged in an intense battle with the colossal fire giant, attempting to halt Asgard's inevitable demise. She materialized and hurled colossal swords at Surtur, attempting to pierce his body, but the seemingly indestructible giant remained unfazed, impervious to their efforts.

The clash between Hela and Surtur continued, a fierce struggle playing out amidst the backdrop of Asgard's crumbling splendor.

"I am Asgard's doom!" Surtur's triumphant shout echoed as he laughed, exerting his colossal force to drive his sword deep into Asgard's ground, bringing about the realm's destruction. Hela, entwined in the chaos, met her end alongside the crumbling kingdom.

"The damage is not too bad, bro. As long as the foundations are still strong… we can rebuild the place, bro. It will become Haven… for all people and aliens of the Universe, bro," Korg, an exiled Kronan resistance fighter, optimistically remarked. Made entirely of stone, he held in his hand a small pink-colored alien pet—his companion, Miek.

However, their hopes were short-lived as the inevitable unfolded. The entire realm of Asgard crumbled into oblivion. "Now nothing can be done, bro. Sorry, bro," Korg solemnly conceded, acknowledging the irreversible fate that had befallen their once-glorious home.

As the collective sorrow enveloped everyone witnessing Asgard's destruction from the spaceship, Thor, filled with remorse, questioned, "What have I done?" He gazed at the remnants of their once-mighty realm.

"You have saved us from extinction," Heimdall reassured Thor. Expanding on the deeper meaning, he continued, "Asgard is not a place. Asgard is where our people live."

Before they could delve further into their reflections, a sudden portal materialized, and from it emerged Ben, accompanied by Sigurd and Maria.
