Tony Stark quickly seized the opportunity to pose the most pressing question that lingered on everyone's minds. "So, my first question is: how can you acquire so many different types of powers?"
Ben, sensing the eagerness among the Avengers to unravel the mystery, began to reveal it, "You've asked some important questions, and it's a long story, but I'll give you the short version."
He projected holographic images of the Omnitrix figures to visually aid his narrative. "In our universe, a guy named Azmuth from the Galvan Planet created the Omnitrix."
The images displayed the design of the alien device, "The Omnitrix is alien tech, and Azmuth created it by incorporating the DNA of every known alien species. There's a villain named Vilgax who has always coveted the Omnitrix for world domination."
"Also, my family is part of the Anodite race, a magical lineage similar to Doctor Strange and Wanda, but on a more advanced level. I possess some of those powers but at a lower level," Ben explained.
"When Vilgax attacked the Galvan Planet to seize the Omnitrix, one of my alien grandmas sent the Omnitrix to Earth, matching it with my grandpa's DNA. I was just ten years old at the time," he explained.
Stark quickly understood that Ben got the Omnitrix, instead of his grandpa. He asked, "So, you gain different alien powers from this Omnitrix tech. Can you show it to us?"
Before Ben could respond, Carol, revealing her protective side as Ben's wife, interjected with a firm stance. "Let me clarify first; he won't give you the Omnitrix to examine. As his wife, I've made it clear that he will not share it, just to prevent you from unintentionally creating a more dangerous villain than Ultron."
"Why, guys? Alright, I just wanted to take a look at what it looks like," Stark conceded, accepting the fact that he wouldn't be allowed to lay hands on the Omnitrix.
With a smile, Ben said, "Well, Stark, I can show you what it looks like, but it won't be possible now."
"From a young age, I gained experience in fighting different villains. I've resolved all the problems in my universe with my sister Gwen Tennyson, my friend Kevin Levin, my Grandpa Max, and the time traveler Professor Paradox," he revealed.
"In the Omnitrix Multiverse, there are different universes. And in every different universe, there are different types of Ben, different names, in some Universe they are known by Ben, then in most of the Universe they are known by Ben Tennyson, meaning different counterparts. They have different types of personalities," he explained.
"What?" Stark exclaimed, realizing that there were so many versions of Ben, each with its own set of powers and personality, "They all have their own Omnitrix," he inquired.
"No, different universes have different results, in some Universes Ben Tennyson have their own Omnitrix, and still, in some universes, my grandpa Max, or in some, my sister Gwen has," Ben elaborated, addressing the curiosity that sparkled in the eyes of the Avengers.
"Let me share an instance," Ben continued, "One time, my cousin Gwen and Kevin were getting married, and Ben 1000 from a different universe of my counterparts arrived. He wanted to gain all of our Omnitrix, but many good counterparts of mine from different universes and Gwen from different universes fought together to save our Omnitrix. In the end, we won and defeated Ben 1000." The Avengers leaned in, absorbing the details of this battle.
"So, everything turned out well in the end," Carol sighed with relief.
"Yes, but Ben 1000 had a reason to take over the Omnitrix. Since he was not able to take it, he activated the self-destruct mode of the Omnitrix, but we calmed him. Still, it was too late, and I took the Omnitrix from him. After taking his Omnitrix, I tried to deactivate it, but time was running out, so I only managed to minimize it and sacrificed myself to save the universe," Ben revealed, sharing a heroic chapter of his adventures that left the Avengers in awe. The willingness to make such sacrifices for the greater good resonated with the essence of heroism that defined Ben Tennyson.
"So, how are you alive now, if you sacrificed yourself?" Clint inquired.
Ben took a moment to unravel the mysterious turn of events. "Some kind of miracle happened. The two Omnitrix devices, shattered across the universe, began to gather together. Since both had my DNA, my body started taking shape again." As he spoke, the Avengers could almost envision the scattered remnants of the powerful devices gathering together.
"Now, neither of the Omnitrix devices exists; they've fused with my blood and DNA, although I'm not entirely sure how," Ben explained, the revelation hinted at a cosmic miracle that defied logical explanation.
"And before this, whenever I wanted to access the powers of another alien, I had to transform into their species. But now, I simply need to call upon them, gaining different alien powers without needing to change into their forms."
"Since the Omnitrix now doesn't exist in physical form, this is the reason why I can't show you the Omnitrix, Stark," Ben finally unveiled the secret behind his boundless powers.
"How many different powers do you possess?" Banner inquired.
"Azmuth gathered 10,000 alien DNA samples in the Omnitrix, and he gave it the ability to scan unknown aliens. So, if I encounter an unknown one, I can acquire their powers," Ben unveiled the true extent of the Omnitrix's capabilities.
The realization that Ben could potentially wield an arsenal of 10,000 different alien powers left the Avengers contemplating the sheer scope of his abilities.
Carol, momentarily taken aback, connected the dots, recalling how Ben had assumed the form of Galactus during their intense battle. "So, Ben, you assumed the Galactus form when we were fighting him by acquiring his DNA?"
"Yes, my love," Ben replied with a warm smile, giving Carol a tender peck on the cheek.
"So, if all of your questions are answered, I can be on my way," Ben offered, and he was just ready to depart from the Avengers Tower.
The group nodded in acknowledgment, recognizing the need for time to digest the information.
However, Thor had another question that lingered in his mind, "So when you mentioned needing to go to a different universe, are you referring to returning to your home?"
Ben considered Thor's question, his gaze momentarily drifting into the unknown, before responding, "Well, it's a bit more complicated. When I learned about the different Multiverses that existed, my curiosity grew, and since the age of ten, I had spent most of my life fighting. I decided to explore different Universes and ended up in this Marvel Multiverse."
The Avengers, still grappling with the intricacies of Ben's journey, found themselves faced with yet another layer of complexity. Before they could fully process the information, the atmosphere shifted as someone else entered the scene.
"So, could you tell me about the Multiverse? I'm sensing different visions, and it seems like a major conflict is about to unfold, involving multiple universes," said Doctor Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme and guardian of Kamar-Taj, the Supreme Magician, and the Master of the Mystic Arts.
His role as a keeper of mystical knowledge made him deeply interested in understanding the concept of the Multiverse and the impending conflict that seemed to loom on the horizon.
Ben, recognizing the significance of Strange's inquiry, began to share insights. "Well, I'll give you a limited overview. Just a few days ago, I defeated Galactus, and after that, I took down Mephisto. However, since they are essential for maintaining the balance of the universe, or else it triggers incursions. Thanks to Johnny Blaze, who absorbed Mephisto's powers and became the King of Hell."
The revelation of Ben's recent battles left the Avengers and Doctor Strange in a state of astonishment. "So, you're the reason Johnny Blaze became the King of Hell. I've experienced some relief from the demons. Thank you for that," Stephen expressed his gratitude.
"Well, it had its pros and cons for the universe's balance. So, the Living Tribunal and the One-Above-All summoned me and warned me not to kill any other powerful entities without their permission," Ben clarified.
"All right, now, tell me more about the Multiverse and who this One-Above-All is," Stephen inquired, his curiosity piqued by the mention of the One-Above-All, a figure shrouded in cosmic mystery.
Ben, using a simple illustration, began to demystify the concept of the Multiverse. "Think of this as a universal tree, with each branch representing a different Multiverse. Each branch connects to around 3,000 universes within its Multiverse. And you're part of one of these universes."
As they marveled at the concept, Ben continued, "And every Multiverse requires powerful entities to oversee it, ensuring that the balance is maintained and incursions between universes are prevented. One-Above-All is the overseer of the Marvel Multiverse, tasked with ensuring that no universe's balance is disrupted and that incursions do not occur between them."
"And the One-Above-All created the Living Tribunal to manage the universes. When I entered the Marvel Multiverse, they summoned me and warned me. But despite their best efforts, sometimes situations turn out differently, leading to what happened," he clarified.
Tony sought to delve deeper into the mysteries of the other universes. "Can you tell me more about the other universes?"
Ben, however, firmly replied, "Well, that's beyond the scope of what I can disclose. I'm not permitted to share more than this."
Doctor Strange understood and accepted that some things needed to remain shrouded in mystery. They had already gained more knowledge than they initially knew, and there was a limit to what they could learn.
Ben noticed that everyone needed time to process the wealth of information he had provided. "Now that you have a better understanding of the situation, and I've shared the information you needed, it's time to say goodbye."
