They spend hours running one test after another. When they were finished with the last test, they concluded that even though his breathing was still very shallow, his brain and body were indeed repairing itself. It was a slow process but it was happening.
At five pm Razor entered the room where they were and raised one of his brows indicating that he needed a report. The doctor cleared his throat before he began. "He's still in very bad shape boss, so, um…I'm begging you to please let him remain here, at least until he wakes up." The doctor said in a nervous tone.
"Boss please, you've your reason for saving his life in the first place but all that would've been for nothing if he went back to the house and ended up dying. Please boss, just until he wakes up. I can put the casts on his limbs tomorrow but when he wakes; we'll have a better idea of how to treat him." The doctor pleads.
Razor made a growling sound in the back of his throat as he fixed them both with a deadly look. "Fine, you have one week. If he's not awake by then your daughter dies." The doctor went as pale as death as the words leave Razor's mouth." "But….boss…why? My….daughter?" "One. Week and you already know who will pay for your mistakes." He says glaring at her.
"Get comfy, you'll be here for a week." He said between clenched teeth glaring at her before turning and leaving the room.
The doctor let out a shuddering breath as the door closed behind Razor. "We need to do everything humanly possible to wake this man up and we need to begin now. I won't let him hurt my daughter." He said and she could hear the fear in his voice. The same kind of fear she was feeling inside. If this man wasn't awake in one week then Razor would hurt her brother.
The room was rearranged to accommodate her and over the next three days, she and the doctor did everything they could think of to wake the man up but so far it wasn't looking promising. To make matters worse she hadn't spoken to her mother or David in four days.
On the first day she was drugged, then on waking up, Razor decided to take the man here and now she has been here for three days.
Two days ago she had asked her brother to give David a message that she was okay and that she would call him soon. He must be going out of his mind with worry right about now. She knew without her even having to ask that her brother would update her mother and sister about her well-being so she need not worry about them but David?
How she wished she could just talk to him for a few minutes, tell him where she was and why she wasn't answering his calls and she knew he had been calling. At one point she asked the doctor if she could borrow his but he said that the guard at the door took it from him before he came in.
With a heavy sigh, she held the man's fingers and began praying to God to wake him up so no one would get hurt. She was in the middle of her prayer when the door opened and her brother walked in.
"Where have you been?" she asks eagerly. "That's irrelevant, any change?" He asks instead. "No, not yet, did you give David the message?" "Really! That's what you're worried about right now? David? You do realize that if this man isn't awake within the next two days, I'll be dead and you'll never see that idiot again? But by all means, sit there, twiddle your damn thumbs, and worry about your precious David." He growls in a sarcastic tone.
"I've faith, God will wake him up and no one will get hurt." She said with confidence. "No offense sis, but I'm not interested in what you think God will do. I want to know what you and that damn doctor are doing to wake this man up?" He shouts.
"Well, the doctor said he has done everything he can think of. He even went as far as to inject the man with a medication that is supposed to bring people out of comas, so all we can do now is pray, have faith, and hope that it works." "Great, just great, in other words, we're all fucked!" He growls, walking from the room and slamming the door shut behind him.
"Don't listen to him." She said to the man on the bed. "I've complete faith in God and I know you'll wake up within the next two days and if you don't then I know God will make a way out of this situation for all of us.
On the other hand, with your four limbs broken and a few ribs, not to mention you had brain surgery so your head is also bandaged, you do resemble a mummy right about now. I'm not sure though, what state of mind you're going to be in when you do finally wake up." She said with a worried sigh.
Five minutes before the one-week deadline came to an end, Razor walked through the door. His eyes went to the man on the bed before meeting first her pensive stare and then the panic-stricken gaze of the doctor. Razor snorts before turning towards one of his goons.
"Bring her brother and his daughter in here, now." He orders in a deadly tone. The goon turned and fled the room. The color drained from the doctor's face as Razor took out his gun and placed it in front of his crotch, feet apart as he waited for his order to be carried out.
"Please boss, we've no control over any of this, please don't do this." The doctor pleads as her fingers tighten around the unconscious man's cold ones. "I told you, you had a week, in three minutes it will be, one week," Razor said his voice calm, cold, and deadly.
Liah was doing some pleading of her own not to Razor, but to God. She closed her eyes and silently pleaded with God to wake this man up.
Her brother and the doctor's daughter were brought in. The girl was crying but her brother was rigid as a block of ice. His face voids of all emotions. If he was scared, he didn't show it. Razor releases the safety on his gun and points it at the doctor's daughter and the girl begins wailing even harder.
With a sinister smirk on his face, Razor slowly leans his head to one side and in a chilling voice says in a sing-song tone. "One minute to go."
At that point Razor's phone rang, he snorted before taking it from his jacket pocket and checking to see who was calling. "Fuck, you call now." He growls at the phone before swiping it and answering the call. "Give me a damn minute." He barks into the phone before pressing it to his chest.
He then lowers his gun and narrows his eyes at the girl. "thanks to this asshole on the phone, you get to live for another few minutes." He sneers before leaving the room.
"Still have faith in your God?" Her brother asks in a scornful tone. She took a deep shuddering breath before holding her head high and meeting his hostile stare, in a firm tone. "Yes, I do." "Then you're a fool." He growls as Razor comes back into the room.
The doctor runs towards him and falls to his knees, his hands clapping in front of him. "Please don't kill my child. Shoot me instead. I'm the one responsible for waking him up, not her, if anyone should die, it should be me, please, not my child." The doctor pleads.
"Tempting but no, you're actually of some use to me, her, not so much. So where was I? Uh, yes." He smirk pointing the gun at the girl again. Razor aim and the doctor moving with the speed of light run between his daughter and the gun.
Razor squeeze the trigger and the bullet hit the doctor in his stomach. "What the…..are you fucking kidding me right now? Fucking idiot!" Razor swears as the girl bend over her father holding his head in her hands and crying.
"Alright, fine! If that's the way you want it, then you both die!" Liah jumps to her feet and Razor point the gun at her. "Sit your virgin ass down before I put a bullet in your damn head." He sneers through clench teeth and Liah sat back down slowly, not hearing a loud bang as she had expected, Liah realized that Razor's gun had on a silencer.
He could shoot a dozen people in this hospital and no one would hear a thing, she thought in horror. Razor points the gun at the girl again and was about to squeeze the trigger when one of his goon shouts.
"Boss look!" Without taking his gun off the girl who was still bent over her father doing her best to stop the bleeding, his eyes follow to where the goon was pointing and lock eyes with the most intense pair of dark eyes he has ever seen on anyone.
