Chapter 8 - Monster College

Spiritual Masters, who harness the mystical powers of spiritual energy, coexist with Martial Artists, who hone their physical strength and combat skills. The empire's prestigious academies, provide all citizens to undergo rigorous training, choosing to specialize either as Spiritual Masters or Martial Artists, every individual reaching the age of 18 undergoes a testing process known as Awakening.

During this procedure, high-level Spiritual Masters utilize their spiritual power to energize the bodies of those who have reached this age, enhancing their adaptability to cultivate Spiritual Power. As the spiritual power surges through their bodies, each individual reacts differently. The intensity of the reaction and the degree to which they become attuned to Spiritual Power varies greatly, leading to a spectrum of awakened talents. These talent levels range from White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Gold, Dark Gold, and beyond.

Spiritual Masters delve into the secrets of manipulating spiritual power, learning to cast spiritual skills, and manipulate elements. Martial Artists, on the other hand, embark on intense physical training, mastering martial arts, weapon techniques, and the art of combat strategy.

This approach not only enhances the individual strengths of Spiritual Masters and Martial Artists but also fosters cooperation between the two disciplines. The empire, in its pursuit of strength and unity, has created a society where individuals with diverse talents can complement each other, forming a formidable force capable of facing the challenges posed by the ever-evolving world of Blue Sea Star.

The Su Family, with roots that stretch deep into the annals of history, occupies a distinguished status among the Earl families within the Great Fire Empire. Renowned for their lineage of Spiritual Masters, they have played a pivotal role in the empire's Spiritual legacy. Their influence extends to the city of Silver Moon, a thriving metropolis under their dominion.

In Silver Moon City, the Su Family stands as a formidable presence, commanding authority over matters of cultivation and governance. The city, home to a populous of several million inhabitants, is characterized by a hierarchical structure with numerous viscounts and Barons pledging allegiance to the Su Family.

As custodians of Spiritual knowledge and practitioners of the Martial arts, the Su Family has nurtured generations of Spiritual Masters and Martial Artists, contributing significantly to the empire's strength. Her mother further explained, "While we do have universities here, they can't quite measure up to the caliber of first-class institutions. Your father intended to convey this to you this morning, but you were unavailable at the time. Currently, he is occupied with a significant matter. However, he assured me that he will be present tomorrow morning to see you off to Monster City."

"In Monster City, The Monster College is renowned for its academies dedicated to the cultivation of spiritual and Martial skills," her mother continued. "You'll be residing in the city for an extended period, and your accommodation is already arranged. You'll be staying with your uncle, who serves as a Professor at Monster College. It was through his position that we secured your admission to the university, following a request from your father."

"Uncle Ye Fan?" Su Mu inquired with a hint of skepticism. The name triggered a distant memory, a connection to her mother's brother whom she hadn't seen in over 15 years. The idea of being sent to stay with him raised questions in her mind. The long gap in their interactions left her wondering about the reasons behind this decision. Ye Fan was her maternal uncle, but it's been so long since she met him.

Her mother nodded, acknowledging Su Mu's recognition of the name. "Yes, it's Uncle Ye Fan. He has been quite successful in his field and holds a position as a Professor at Monster College. Your father thought it would be a good arrangement for you, given the circumstances. It's essential to have a familiar face to guide you in a new environment."

Su Mu absorbed this information, her thoughts turning towards the upcoming journey and the unfamiliar aspects awaiting her in Monster City. "When does the Acadamy start?" Su Mu's question hung in the air, a small but significant detail in the midst of the larger conversation. Her mother's expression softened slightly.

"The Academy starts in a week dear. It will give you some time to settle in and get acquainted with your uncle before you begin your studies," she explained gently.

A wave of nervousness washed over Su Mu. "It all seems so sudden," Su Mu voiced her apprehension, her voice barely above a whisper.

Her mother reached out and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I understand, Mu'er. But change can be a good thing. It's an opportunity for new experiences, new challenges, and new growth."

"Your departure is tomorrow; Lingxi will not be going with you. So, take the rest of the evening to prepare and bid farewell to your friends and acquaintances here in Sliver Moon City. Make the most of this time to gather any essentials you might need for your stay in the Monster City," her mother advised, providing a clear timeline for the upcoming events.

"Your uncle and his wife are aware of your arrival, and he's looking forward to having you with him," her mother assured, sensing Su Mu's internal contemplation.

Su Mu nodded, and the conversation shifted to practical matters as her mother continued to brief her about the journey to Monster City, the university's expectations, and the general etiquette.

As Su Mu pondered the upcoming farewell to Lingxi, a sense of complexity enveloped their relationship. The intimate events that had unfolded between them added a layer of emotional intricacy, leaving Su Mu grappling with the right way to part ways. Despite the assurance of her return after completing her studies, the recent experiences had cast a unique shadow on their bond.

After the conclusion of dinner, Su Mu and Lingxi retreated to their room. Lingxi, overcome with emotion, murmured softly and tears welled up in her eyes. "Am I not allowed to accompany you to..." she questioned; her disappointment evident.
