Chapter 12 - Roar of the Crystal Horned Wolf

The entire area was awash in blood, the side walls of the hills smeared with red, and white paste clinging to them. A gruesome tableau of carnage lay on the ground, the goblin's bodies dismembered and unrecognizable.

Amidst this blood-soaked chaos stood a man, his form covered in crimson. It was impossible to discern if the blood belonged to him or the fallen.

Ethan, remarkably composed amidst the macabre scene, cast his gaze toward the sky, noting its bloody red hue. A slight hunger nagged at him, but food was the least of his concerns; the system had that covered.

What he desired now was to obliterate the remnants of the goblin territory, and that was precisely what he was about to do.

"Huffffff," Ethan exhaled, finally allowing himself a moment to breathe. The intense battle had demanded his full attention, leaving no room for distractions. The realization of his increased strength, now at level 34, filled him with exhilaration.

"Now that I'm level 34, I'm deadly, haha!" Ethan chuckled with delight, eager to complete the dungeon.

In this brutal confrontation, Ethan's victory was rooted in sheer strength. Though his speed lagged behind the purple goblins, his overwhelming strength surpassed even the blue ones. Despite sustaining injuries, Ethan's confidence remained unshaken, knowing that leveling up brought with it the boon of healing.

Satisfied with his progress, Ethan allocated points to enhance both strength and agility, his body responding with a warm, empowering sensation.

Allocate 20 points in strength and 20 points in agility.

The newfound strength surged within him, manifesting in a unique, destructive aura. Ethan relished the progress he had made, determined to continue his journey to greater strength.

"Time remaining: 63:22:43," the system notified, revealing that Ethan had spent nearly ten hours within the dungeon, a fact that startled him. The realization of potential vulnerability during such immersion gripped him briefly before fading.

System, scan the territory and find all the goblins around. We are going for another massacre.

Beeep.

"There are a lot of goblins in the west direction near the jackals' territory."

Determined and fueled by the desire for more experience points, Ethan ventured forth, ready to unleash another wave of destruction.

In the Macloy Mansion, Emma sat in a room with Max, seeking an explanation for Ethan's unexpected visit. Max recounted the encounter, detailing Ethan's inquiries about the emblem and subsequent departure.

"Mhm, so you're saying he just asked about the emblem and left?" Emma probed, intrigued by the unfolding events.

"Y-yes, Aunt. I was really scared, but he just asked about it, from where I got it, and left," Max stammered, still puzzled by the stranger's actions.

Curiosity and concern mingled within Emma. She pondered how Ethan had discerned the emblem's uniqueness and wondered about his knowledge.

"Was he able to touch the emblem?" Emma inquired, her curiosity intensifying.

"He d-didn't try to touch it. He just asked me who can touch it except me," Max responded, now realizing the peculiarity of the situation.

Emma, astonished by Ethan's insights, questioned the implications of having him by her side. Uncertainty loomed as she contemplated the mysterious stranger.

"Okay, you can go now, Max," Emma dismissed him, her thoughts swirling with uncertainty.

"Hahaha, these damn goblins are useless. They are just a piece of shit now. Not even helping me in leveling up! GIVE ME EXPERIENCE!!" Ethan's frustration echoed as he obliterated the remaining goblins in the dungeon.

A sudden realization struck him — stamina. Pushed to his limits, Ethan decided to replenish his stamina and dashed back to a safe spot. Consulting the system, he discovered the option to purchase potions for stamina and health.

Host can buy potions in the store for stamina and health under the elixir category anytime.

Ethan wasted no time and swiftly acquired a high-class stamina potion. The soothing cold sensation it provided reinvigorated him, allowing for relentless pursuit.

Now, with improved stamina, Ethan resumed the massacre, displaying unmatched strength against the jackals. However, a hiccup occurred as his stamina depleted once again, prompting him to acquire another potion.

As he guzzled down the high-class potion, Ethan felt the rejuvenating effects, readying himself for the next onslaught.

Continuing his rampage, Ethan acknowledged a limitation — a lack of large-scale attacks. Undeterred, he pressed on, determined to overcome his weaknesses through experience and sheer willpower.

The last territory on the map beckoned — [One Horned Wolves]. The name shimmered with an orange glow, signifying a formidable challenge. Unfazed, Ethan prepared for the impending clash.

Shall we go to the next one then...

*Gurrrrrr.*

A rumble interrupted Ethan's thoughts, this time originating from his stomach. Realizing his hunger, Ethan indulged in a satisfying meal provided by the system, praising its culinary skills.

"Satisfied. System, you have good food, dude. So, you're a good cook, hahah. Nice. Now shall we go?" Ethan, content and recharged, pulled out the [Stone Breaker], determined to finish the dungeon.

Arriving at the final territory, Ethan scanned the area, revealing a daunting challenge.

[One Horned Wolf Territory]

- 160+ wolves, level 20-25

- 40 wolves, level 28-30

- Dungeon boss: Crystal Horned Wolf, level 47

Ethan took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the toughest battle yet.

---

The air resonated with tension as Ethan faced the Crystal Horned Wolf, ready for a clash that would test his newfound strength.

Congratulations for the host for leveling up twice.

WTF!

"Oii, system, I was waiting for a notification for so long, and you just said I leveled twice! Why didn't you notify me separately? Are you being lazy with your work? ANSWER ME!!" Ethan exclaimed, receiving only silence in response.

Ignoring the system's nonchalant demeanor, Ethan refocused on the imminent challenge.

The Crystal Horned Wolf, the dungeon's apex predator, loomed before him. Little did Ethan know that this battle would push him to his limits, forging a path toward unprecedented strength.
