"Ando you show too much trust in your enemy." Said Darek.
If Erin hadn't been so hungry, she would have thrown the hot broth in his face. However, with only the thought, her stomach protested with a sound.
"Do me a favor and go throw yourself in a well," Erin replied through clenched teeth, deciding to ignore him.
"Ah, I think you like me," Darek said, quite amused. He didn't give a damn about what she could say with her sharp tongue.
Whatever it was, she didn't take the bait and hurried to finish lunch. However, her attitude did not discourage the slender young man who ended up taking a seat next to her on the soft grass. He kept his knees bent and his arms rested on them lazily, but the young man's blue eyes did not stop looking at his face. No, he was looking at her mouth.
What in the...?
"Is it too much to ask you to let me eat in peace?" She let go of it, looking at him irritably with her mouth intentionally full. It was then that she saw her sister chatting with Ahian. No... Had they perhaps decided to exchange? The idea took her by surprise. And, even though Erin felt a small sense of betrayal that she buried immediately, she became furious. Come on! She was not an object to be exchanged just like that.
"Does this mean that I will now be the mother of your children?" "She asked pointedly, looking meaningfully at the other couple.
In response, the young man next to her gave a puzzled glance in that direction and when he seemed to understand, a seductive smile appeared on his face.
"I wish..." He said and when she scowled at him, Darek continued, "You see, your sister is a bit boring. Instead, you…"
Erin squeezed the bowl until something creaked. In those moments she didn't give a damn about food because her stomach had shrunk.
"Damn, she left everything to go after you. You are a miserable..."
For his part, Darek let her glare at him menacingly for a few seconds before answering:
"Those are big words for such a small mouth."
"Get out of my sight," Erin hissed.
"You see, Erin, your sister didn't come with me." Darek declared, looking serious for the first time.
What? Erin almost choked on her saliva, then looked back at her sister. Rubí was hanging on Ahian's arm, glued to the young man while he was discussing something with a group of subordinates.
"Does he want…?" She started to speak feeling her skin turn cold, however, Darek interrupted her.
"No, Erin," He said with a sly smile. "Ahian already rejected your sister." The statement, despite evaporating the terrible possibility that the other man wanted to take both of them, had a certain inflection that greatly displeased Erin.
"What do you mean…" She said with hostility as she stood up and threw away the bowl which still contained some broth.
"You're attracting attention, Erin. I recommend that you sit down again." He said calmly, without stopping looking at her with those bright eyes of him.
"Bullshit, what did you…?" Erin only had time to see one of Darek's long legs stretch out with speed and sweep the floor beneath her. The next thing she knew she was landing on her butt and sitting in the grass, which didn't feel very good.
"Son of…"
"Well, now I must recommend that you stop again." Darek interrupted her, clearly trying to hold back his laughter. "Oh, your face was priceless."
And that was it because Erin's vision blurred and she finally lost control. She attacked him and by the time she was aware of her actions, Erin was already lying astride on top of the impertinent young man. Amid her fury, she had punched him on the cheek.
At first, her attack amused Darek. However, when he felt the blow, he no longer found it so funny. Within two seconds the tables were reversed and Erin was beneath him, with her hands trapped above her head.
