Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Freya went to her room and sat on her bed. She asked herself why her siblings didn't understand her. She wanted them to give their mom a chance. She knew she had done wrong to them, but they were her children. They had to look after her in her old age. Freya changed her clothes to tops and jeans. She said to herself that she would explore the place first and then meet her mom tomorrow. She went to her siblings and said, "Guys, I'm going to explore the place. I'll come back late."

But her siblings didn't want to talk to her and completely ignored her. Sadly, Freya left the cottage. She started to blame herself for not telling them the truth. Freya was exploring the woods when she suddenly tripped over a tree root and started losing her balance. Just as she was about to fall, a pair of strong arms caught her. She looked up and saw a tall, dark-haired man with piercing green eyes looking down at her. "You should be careful," he said, helping her back onto her feet. "Thank you," she replied, feeling a little embarrassed. "I'm Freya Taylor. And you are?" "Adrian Smith," he said, extending his hand. "Are you new here?" "Yes, I came here today to explore the place," Freya said. "Do you need any help?" Adrian asked. "No, thanks," Freya said, smiling. "I think I'll be okay now." "Alright then," Adrian said, returning her smile. "Take care, Freya." "You too," Freya said, watching him walk away. She couldn't help but feel a little flutter in her heart. Maybe this was the start of something special.

As she bid him goodbye, she resumed her exploration. She thought about him and wondered if she should have asked him for some company. Suddenly, she remembered that her mom had built an orphanage house here after leaving them. She laughed in her mind. She had left them but built a house for the orphans. But she had done a good deed. It hurt that she hadn't told them. She had made herself and her siblings feel unwanted. She didn't know how she was going to react to her after seeing her.

At last, after walking for a long time, she found an abandoned house. She decided to rest there and enjoy the beautiful nature.

Suddenly, a man appeared from behind her, catching her off guard and making her his prey. His voice was chillingly cold. As she gazed at him, she realized he was the notorious killer responsible for the deaths of numerous young women by the riverside. His eyes were a menacing red and he was swiftly advancing towards her. Instinctively, she began running with all her might. But he was just as fast. He delivered a sharp blow to her arms with his knee, the blade of his knife slicing through her skin. However, she refused to give up and continued running. After a few frantic steps, she dared to look back. He was no longer close behind. She halted, gasping for air. In that moment, she felt a sudden jolt of pain from a knife piercing her side. She turned to see the man who had been lurking behind her, whispering, "I've finally got you, you bitch." And everything went black as she collapsed. In that fleeting moment, she thought of how she had risked her life for one last chance to reunite with her family. Perhaps, this was the end of her story.
