Chapter 5 - Naming the Doll

Evan immediately broke from her powers.

He softly shoved her out of the way, sitting back idly on the sofa. She returned to her sitting position, her legs up on the couch, in a womanly manner.

"What the heck is wrong with you?" He barked, fixing the collar of his clothes that got crinkled when she pushed him. "When you first came alive, you acted like an innocent girl, but now you're like any other disgusting woman I met."

The doll lowered her head; fiery hair covered her face like a curtain.

Once again, she gripped her dress silently and lowered her head even more.

Evan became aware that he had probably insulted her.

"I a-a-apologize." She bowed, her voice returning to the former softness he heard the first time she spoke. "I was t-t-trying to assess your p-p-personality and looking for a proper approach to your l-l-liking."

It took a moment before he understood what she was trying to say.

Of course, she was a sex doll.

Not all men are the same, so everyone has their tastes. She had to cope with their wants, no matter how 'unnatural' it may seem.

"F-f-forgive me for doing that." She stuttered, embarrassed at what she did. "It was v-v-very foolish of me to assume that y-y-you would like a 'dominant' woman with that s-s-superior personality of yours."

Evan was almost impressed at how quickly she judged someone's character.

Almost.

Until she added this.

"After all, you were e-e-enjoying me while I was still unconscious. It would probably be the b-b-best to act like a 'weak woman.' Or maybe you have a f-f-fetish for assaulting unconscious women? I-i-if that's the case, I can act s-s-sleeping all the time, and you can do your way—"

"NO!" Evan shouted, causing the doll to whimper. "I'm sorry for shouting at you, but please don't get the wrong idea. I was not enjoying you while you were unconscious—" The doll looked like she doubted him. "I was unaware that you would come alive, for I was unaware of such a thing."

'Even if I had read the message until the end, I wouldn't have believed it and would have done it anyway,' Evan thought.

"A deep emotion overpowered me because I am deeply attracted to dolls," he reasoned out. "And that's just it. I'm not a rapist who likes unconscious women. Understand?"

She remained quiet for a moment.

"… S-s-so would y-y-you prefer that I remain m-m-motionless and act like I was n-n-not yet a-a-activated, Sir?"

Ignoring her odd usage of 'activate,' Evan wanted to bang his face at the wall.

"That's not what I'm trying to say!" He shouted.

"B-b-but you were clearly stating that you g-g-get aroused by dolls—"

"No!" He bellowed. "No, wait. Yes, it's a yes, but—What, NO!"

"I a-a-a-apologize, Sir. I can no l-l-longer follow what you're saying."

Evan groaned, covering his face with his hands.

"What I'm trying to say is…" He sighed, gathering his bearing. "You don't have to act like another person just to please me."

"Pardon?" She frowned.

"Act like yourself." He tried to make it simple.

She only frowned even deeper.

"According to my interpretation," she said, rubbing her plump lips. "You want me to act 'naturally' in my default personality…"

He nodded, even if he had difficulty understanding the term 'default personality.'

She bowed. "I'm s-s-s-sorry, Sir, but I have no such thing. I was made i-i-intentionally to a-a-a-accommodate your p-p-preferences, and hence, I have no such t-t-thing as a p-p-personality for 'myself.'"

Evan eyed her with his intense, icy blue eyes while the doll looked away, squirming at his intense gaze.

It was sad that such a beautiful being as she was, simply invented just to satisfy the pleasures of men.

Had her inventors ever thought the person might buy this Eternity Woman for human companionship and not sexual gratification?

'Human companion?' The sane voice in his head repeated. 'Since when did YOU ever need that? Wait, you're keeping her?'

He shook his head, ignoring his conscience.

The doll noticed this and was about to ask what was wrong when he spoke.

"Then act just like that."

Her moss-colored eyes widened.

"Pardon?" she asked, covering her lips with her hands.

"Just act like that," Evan said in a matter-of-fact tone, resting his back on the backrest. "That innocent, shy type you showed me when you were first 'activated.'"

"S-s-sir?" she said, unsure.

"Evan," He corrected.

"What?"

"Just call me Evan," He said. "People at the office call me 'sir' every day. I find it odd that even in my own house, someone refers to me with such formality."

"E-E-Evan…" The doll repeated his name as if it were a foreign word.

She looked down to the floor with a smile on her small lips.

Upon seeing the angelic curve of her mouth, he couldn't help but feel a tingling sensation in his stomach. He looked away and groaned.

"And stop doing that."

"D-d-doing what?" She looked up at him.

"T-t-t-that." Evan imitated. "Stop stuttering as if you have a speech defect or something."

"Oh," She nodded. "I'm sorry, I was just nervous."

"It was pretty obvious." He shrugged.

The doll smiled happily at him, eyes twinkling like the stars of the night. She looked incredibly adorable; he couldn't help but get infected by her smile.

Sure, she was beautiful when she was still asleep. She reminded him greatly of Sleeping Beauty.

But now that she's awake, she completely overpowers all the other princesses he has ever encountered in his lifetime.

"What's your name?" He asked.

It was kind of stupid not to ask her about this immediately. But he was too busy freaking out that the doll was alive and admiring her beautiful face like a pervert to even care about such things.

She made a face like this idea had never passed through her mind.

"Sir--," She was about to speak but immediately saw the disapproving look he was giving her. She shook her head and corrected. "I mean, Evan?"

Evan smiled at her cute mistake.

"What's your name?" He repeated for her.

"I'm sorry to say, however, that I was not created with such a thing." She explained. "It is an honor given to the doll's owner to give his toy a name. Hence, I'm not allowed to give myself one."

"Is that so? Well, this is a problem." Evan sighed. But naming his most precious doll excites him on a weird level. "I guess I should name you… Oh, Eternity?"

"Evan?"

"Your name would be Eternity." He decided. "Eternity Doll. I derived it from your product name. However, I changed the 'Women' to 'Doll' because I found the name Eternity Women unattractive."

"Eternity…" She said as if she was convincing herself that it would be her new name.

"What?" Evan sounded offended. "You don't like it?"

Eternity perked up and shook her head.

"Not at all." She smiled. "I like the name very much."
