Once their lips separated, they looked at each other for a few seconds and smiled before slumping back to the soft cotton pillows of Evan's bed.
"What are our plans for today?" Eternity asked, her head resting comfortably on Evan's biceps.
"I don't have any," Evan admitted, pulling Eternity closer to him so that her face was back to being buried in his chest. "I just want to lie down with you on this bed until night comes."
Eternity could hear his heartbeat and how fast and excited it was.
She unconsciously placed her hand on her bosom, trying to feel the nonexistent beat of hers. Somehow, this made her feel sad. She couldn't reciprocate the giddiness he felt right now.
Not that she wasn't, of course.
She was quite happy to have their limbs tangled with each other.
It's just that she wasn't physically made to be able to do so.
"Me, too," she whispered.
They lay there in silence, enjoying the heat (which Eternity was surprisingly producing) of each other's bodies.
Eternity looked up, taking a peek at Evan's face.
His eyes were closed, and she could marvel at how long his lashes were.
Unconsciously, she reached for his face, thumbing at his beautiful cheekbones.
"Is there something on my face?" Evan asked, his eyes still closed.
"No." She shook her head, realizing belatedly that he couldn't see her do it. "I just realized that you're such a sight to behold."
Evan snorted, an odd sound coming from a regularly serious and scary man.
"Those words befit you more than me."
"I'm serious," she insisted. "You are a very handsome man, Evan. I think I am lucky to have you as my…" She shook her head again. "𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦."
"I feel the same way." Evan finally opened his eyes, revealing his ice-blue pair.
He looked down to meet her eyes, and Eternity thought that if she had any physical heart, it would beat very fast right now.
Eternity pushed her weight on the bed, moving her body upwards so she could position her face in front of his.
"Evan," she began.
"What's wrong?"
"I want to ask if you want to do it tonight."
Eternity tried to phrase it less obscenely, one that befitted the personality he chose for her. Evan, thankfully, wasn't an idiot enough to not understand what she meant.
"But didn't you just… Didn't I give you energy last night?" Evan pointed out, referring to their sexual activity with Freiheit watching them as an audience.
"I don't mean to do it just for the mere sake of gaining energy," Eternity explained. "I want to do it because…"
"Because what?"
"Because I love you."
Evan's blue eyes widened. He suddenly sat up, resting his back on the wooden bedpost.
Eternity was forced to sit up, worried about why he refused to look at her.
"Evan…?" Eternity whispered. "I didn't mean to offend you—"
"I'm not," he said, a little louder than he wanted.
Eternity literally whimpered and moved an inch backward.
"Oh, Eternity, no…" He grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her closer again.
This time, Evan finally looked at her. Eternity realized he didn't want her to gaze so closely at him because his eyes were a bit misty and his cheeks were completely red.
Evan was embarrassed.
"Love is such a deep word, isn't it?" He said, covering half of his face with his arm. "Are dolls even capable of such emotions?"
He realized belatedly that his words were derogatory and was about to apologize when Eternity suddenly giggled.
"We do," she said mid-giggle, barely getting it out of her lips. "I'm more human than you think, Evan."
"I was about to ask if I offended you, but seeing your expression, I already know the answer." Evan sighed in relief.
She giggled even more, the mere sound causing weird tingling sensations all over his body.
"I'm more concerned that you do not feel the same way toward me," she finally said once she gathered her bearings. "Your reaction was enough confirmation to me that you don't."
"Eternity," Evan groaned. "No, it's not that. I was just…"
"Overwhelmed?" Eternity finished for him.
Hesitantly, he nodded. Once again, his cheeks regained the color of burning red.
"This must be the first time a woman told me such words," he said. "I've never thought I was a person who deserved such words."
"And why is that?" Eternity asked curiously.
"I don't know," Evan admitted.
"Everyone deserves to be loved," Eternity whispered, leaning closer until her lips were near his ears. "So do you."
It sent a shiver down his spine.
"I love you, Evan," she repeated.
Evan was utterly taken aback.
He didn't know how to respond to her.
But he didn't need to.
Her next words were enough confirmation.
"I hope there comes a day when you will feel the same way." Eternity ran her fingers on his brown hair, tilting her head to the side as her face moved closer to his. "But for now, I won't force you to say it back."
"Thank you," was all Evan could say.
Hell, he could barely even say it. 'Breathed' was the correct term when he allowed it out of his mouth.
Eternity placed her hand on his thighs, finally allowing their lips to touch.
It was soft at first.
Delicate. Confident. Ravenous.
The shift in how Eternity changed her manner of kissing was causing his limbs to turn into jelly. The feeling of Eternity's soft lips against him made a feeling akin to electricity go straight from his stomach to his groin.
As she began to suck on Evan's bottom lip, a deep growl escaped from his throat. Evan felt Eternity smile at him before pulling away from him.
Evan felt a weird sort of longing as the skin of their lips separated, but it didn't last long.
"Should we…?" Eternity trailed.
She didn't need to finish her sentence to tell him exactly what she wanted from him.
It's exactly what he wanted as well.
"We should."
