Chapter 4 - 4. The other El

"Well,I did try to warm him." Artisan said as he walked through the streets of Krypton.

After he had talked with Jor-El he had tried to talk with Zod, but the man wasn't in the mood to talk and despite his attempts to tell him he didn't allow him. So in the end the gave the message to the general's subordinate before he left the place.

"I have two days to explore Krypton before getting out of here. These people don't know what hit them." Artisan said to himself as he looked at the Kryptonians around him.

'Jor-El should have already started to work on a pod for his son. By the current resources he has in his possession, he won't be able to make that big of a spaceship. So he'll do the next best thing, create a pod for his son while also tweaking and upgrading the Fortress of Solitude for his son which will help Superman in the future.' Artisan thought to himself as a smirk adorned his face.

He then decided to take a detour and go to another member of the El family. More specifically the house of the future Supergirl and cousin of Superman, Kara. He already knew the location so he just made a beeline to the place.

He reached near the area and walked through the gate as the scanners scanned him before allowing him to go. He stopped however when he saw a familiar blonde haired girl playing a board game in the garden. And from the look on her face she is pretty bored.

The Artisan smiled when he saw her and made his way to her. She heard the sound of him approaching and looked at him. She became skeptical as he came close to her but he made sure to keep his distance from her to make sure that she knows that he doesn't want to harm her.

"Hello, I couldn't help but notice that you're playing that game. I wanted to play that as well." The Artisan said to her with a smile.

"You want to play this game? I don't know who you are but you will lose to me." Kara (I'll be calling her this) said to him with a confident look.

"Then I'll be happy to play with you." Artisan said as he sat on the chair before they started to play.

It was a Kryptonian board game which could be said to be like a mixture of chess and checkers and many other board games from earth. Due to Krypton's advanced civilization it is a lot more complicated than the others but with his mind it wasn't any problem for him. And so they started to play the game against eachother.

And he made sure to thoroughly demolish her in the game. Kara has a flabbergasted look on her face as she looked at the board with wide eyes as her eyes couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"H-How did you defeat me so fast?" Kara asked him shocked.

"Simple. I'm just smarter than you." Artisan said to her with a smile.

"One more game. I want to play one more." Kara said as she looked at him fiercely.

'I guess she couldn't accept the fact that she was defeated so soundly and easily.' Artisan thought to himself in amusement as he decided to do as the girl wanted.

And so they kept on playing with Kara not being able to defeat him even once while the Artisan kept on playing casually. He also defeated her one time with his eyes closed just to mess with her, his enhanced senses allowing him to know where the pieces had been moved.

"Oh come on! How come I can't defeat you even once. I'm the daughter of a scientist for Rao's sake!" Kara shouted in frustration.

"If it makes you feel any better, you could've studied a bit more." The Artisan said to her with a cheeky smile on his face.

"Burn in the sun." Kara said with a scowl on her face.

"Come on now. There's no need to be that angry with me. I just wanted to meet Jor-El's relatives." Artisan said with a small laugh.

"You know Uncle?" Kara said surprised at his words.

"Yeah. I had talked to her a few hours ago. And since I had seen him I thought I should pay this place a visit as well." Artisan said to her with a smile.

"And it seems like you have enjoyed your visit very much." A man's voice said from behind Artisan.

The two looked at the source of the voice as Kara's eyes widened with a look of recognition while the Artisan just smiled at the man.

"It's good to finally meet you, Zor-El." Artisan said with a smile.

"What do you want with me?" Zor-El asked him seriously.

"I just wanted to talk something about the scientific and seismic data of Krypton." Artisan said with a smile on his face.

Zor-El's eyes widened a bit when he heard that before they became serious.

"Come with me and we can talk inside. And stay right there and don't follow us." Zor-El said to him before ordering his daughter.

"Yes dad." Kara said with a nod.

Meanwhile the Artisan gave her a bye and walked behind the man. The two then talked with each other and the Artisan told him about how his planet is about to blow up in two days. Zor-El went into deep contemplation after that. The Artisan didn't do anything and simply waited and the man finally seemed to have been done with his thoughts.

"I don't know if what you're saying is authentic or not but I will use this newfound knowledge. If it turns out to be true then you have my gratitude." Zor-El said with a nod to him with a serious face.

"Thank you for taking it into consideration. Now, I'll be on my way since I have already accomplished what I came here for." Artisan said with a smile at the Kryptonian.

He then exited the house and went his regards to Kara before he left the house. He has a happy smile on his face as he walked through the roads of Krypton.
