Chereads / Forever Starts In 7 Days / Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

It wasn't just another day in school.

I had been called from the break room where I had decided to relax with my friends. There seem to be a meeting with the president of the student council of RM[a] and the principal of Gideon high.

For the principal to be there, this must be big news.

With my vice president, Johnny and I marched our way towards the main hall for the meeting. This was the first time, in all the years I have been in this school, that I would be seeing the president of the student council of RM.

The rules between the two sides were so strict that we aren't even allowed to sniff in the scent of the RM student.

See why I said it wasn't just another school day.

I pushed open the door and walked in, head held high.

The main hall was filled with air conditioners, the conference table at the middle had drinks and other confectioneries were placed on top of the table too.

When I saw who was at the head table, I wanted to dig a hole and hide.

How could this shameless person be a student council president?

Jason Kade, he had on the blue suit of the RM students, his badge to show he was the school president was placed on the right side of his uniform.

My hands fisted but I resisted the need to punch his smug face.

He smirked when he saw me making me frown even more.

I sat opposite him at the conference table, legs crossed.

The principal, a middle-aged woman sat in the right chair beside him and a Hispanic girl, who I believe is his vice president sat at his left.

"Well now that the NS[b] council had arrived, we shall begin," The principal said. "So, the main reason for us being here is the fact that the RM had come to a conclusion which is the fact that both the RM and NS would have lunch at the same time. A separate hall has been made and will take the course tomorrow. If you guys can do well with each other at just lunchtime, we might also allow events to happen with the two"

I almost choked on my saliva. Well, this was new.

How did they get those rich kids to agree to this?

"It looks like you have already concluded," I told them when I realize there isn't much for me to say.

"Yes, we have. We just needed you to know of the plans and how to react to them. No need to worry I am sure this is in your best interest"

She had a mocking gaze in her eyes that made my anger flare-up.

Just because they had the power and money, she dared looked down on the NS? How annoying.

"What about the location? Would it be too far from anyone?" Johnny asked.

"No, it won't" Jason replied. His voice was gentle with a hint of arrogance in his tone. "Besides, I believe your students would benefit a lot from this, eating a top chef food"

Crack!

The pencil in my hand broke into two different parts.

"What do you mean?" I asked him annoyed.

"Well isn't it the truth? You guys would be able to taste rich food since a top chef is willing to obey and serve us" He said giving me and Johnny an intense look.

"I am sure my mother would be able to cook better than your top chef" I murmured to myself.

"What did you say?" The principal asked me.

"I said I had a question" I lied. The principal waved her hand giving me a signal to go on.

I quickly came up with a question.

I look Jason straight in the eyes and asked. "Why the sudden suggestion? I mean determining that you all are from rich families, I am sure there is no way they would have agreed to this"

Jason laughed. "You don't need to worry about that."

Johnny leaned towards me. "You know he is right. Most students from our side of the school aren't really from well-off families. Some crave this, if you were to prevent it, I am not sure they would want you as president anymore" He whispered to me.

I sighed. "You are right, but there is not much I can do anyway. They already decided it, so it must go through"

I felt a cold stare at the side of my head, shivers ran down my spine. I turned towards the source and shivered when I saw Jason staring daggers at me.

He blinked then turned back to his former composure.

I was shocked. What was that all about?

After the conclusion, I walked out while Johnny remain to talk to the principal.

My next goal was to find Jason, who was already walking down the stairs with his vice president.

I ran towards him. I may look desperate, which is the truth I am. No matter how proud I may be, I would do anything for my family.

I caught my breath before calling out his name. "Jason!" He stopped. His vice president kept on walking while I walked towards him.

We stood facing each other on the stairs. He had his right hand in his uniform trousers.

Since I was just a mere 5'5, I had to look up at him.

His bangs were gelled back today, but there was still a loose strand. He had a black earring on his left ear lobe giving him the bad boy vibe. One could perceive he had a dangerous aura, the kind that every parent would want to keep their kids away from.

I admit, he was handsome. Of course, I would only say that to myself.

Remembering why I stopped him, I said. "I wanted to talk to you"

He smirked. "Is it that you can't just get enough of me you had to stop me at a secluded spot so that you can devour me with your eyes?"

I frowned.

Secluded spot?

I looked around, no student was passing by. Just us two. These were the stairs that led to RM, of course, no one would come here.

"That's not it. It was just a coincidence that we are here" I said to him keeping my voice aloof.

"You don't have to act all tough with me. You seem tensed. Shortcake, are you scared of me?"

I swear this guy wasn't okay.

Does he think the world revolved around him?

"I am not scared of you. I just came to apologize, it was my fault. I didn't mean to be harsh to you yesterday. Please, don't bring my family into this"

Jason frowned. He looked at me with a confused expression.

"I don't understand what you mean," he said

No need to beat around the bush, get straight to the point. I said to myself.

"Yesterday, after you left. The demolition company called and gave us a period to move our stuff. I know I was wrong last night. Especially for being rude to the prince. Please forgive me and call it off, my family has been through a lot, I can't..." I lowered my head. The floor seems to be very interesting at the moment.

"You look like a cute kitten" He patted my head. "But I am not the one who wants to demolish your supermarket, I might have invested in it but it's not me".

Instead of a breath of relief, my heart tensed up again. "What do you mean? If you don't mind me asking, who?"

"I am sure you know him. Dr. Stein Leblanc"

I gritted my teeth. Him again? What did we ever do to that man? Just what?

My mind was already going wild and tears covered my vision.

"Hey, hey, hey. Don't cry" Jason used his thumb to wipe the tears off my cheeks.

I had never broken down in front of anyone, apart from my family.

Hearing my father's name again I couldn't control my tears.

"Come on shortcake, don't cry. I promise, give me two days I would be able to stop this. Just go on as you use to, don't change anything. Okay?"

"Why are you helping me?" I asked sniffing.

"Because I want something in return" he replied smirking.

"And what's that?"

He leaned close to my ear and whispered.

"Your virginity," He said before standing up straight.

I gasped. "Wha...what?"

Jason burst out laughing. "You should have seen your face. You looked like a kitten drained in water...hahaha"

I bit my inner cheeks to prevent my smart mouth from retorting harsh words.

"I am no longer a virgin, so there is nothing to take," I said fiddling with my hands.

"Oh, don't lie to me, shortcake. I know" He winked.

I huffed. "Thank you, for wanting to help me," I said wanting to divert the conversation.

He just shrugged.

I was about to leave when he stopped me. "Do you believe in love?" he asked.

I shivered even though it wasn't cold.

Why the sudden question?

"No. I don't believe in love"

He shoved his two hands into his pockets. "What if I said I would be able to make you fall in love with me?"

"It won't happen, sorry"

He grinned. His eyes turned into a crescent, there was a dark glint within his pupils.

"Later, shortcake" He turned and walked off.

I just stood there, rooted to the spot.

What was that about?
